Lavatory is the only person on the planet to have ever read and studied George Eliot. Any Eliot reader who does not believe she is trans is just an anti-intellectual illiterate. Except there have been better educated and people of much higher intelligence than he who have studied Eliot’s work and never once did any of them get ~trans vibes~.

Lavery seems to be arguing that because women could publish under their names (no shit dude), it means that George Eliot chose her name to signal her queerness and not the myriad of other reasons that have been cited. At the end of the day it does all come down to him targeting Eliot because she used a male pen name. If she had called herself Mary Ann Evans, Lavery wouldn’t be desperately inventing evidence to trans her. I think it takes him so long to make his best argument because he's making it up as he goes along. When he initially said "George Eliot was trans," he meant it. He rightfully got a huge backlash and went through his predictable rage-fueled process of accusing everyone who disagreed with him of being an illiterate, transphobic mong. It took a couple of days for him to decide that he was just joking when he made the claim.

I tried to watch the video of his presentation to see if there was more context to the George Eliot thing. There isn't. If you want to see it, 7:55 is a good place to start, trans claim is at about 8:12, then he quickly moves on. I couldn't get much further into the video; his sniffling was too disgusting.
