I'm fascinated by the current CoD gameplay. Phil has started running the dual Diamatti pistols and seems to be having more fun than before. He constantly calls it stupid, he keeps saying how unrealistic it is to be running around with pistols on a battlefield, but he's having fun with it. It's almost like after years of his weird autism claiming CoD is some kind of ultra-realistic military sim, he's starting to realize that the game is just an arcade shooter with the trappings of 'realism'.

I never understood his retarded hang-up about CoD not being realistic anymore and how it was a "realistic" military shooter simulator in its early releases (I'm guessing he means the original, United Offensive and 2?)
I don't know where the hell he gets that from. I mean I get it, is the presentation more realistic? Yes it is, you don't have faggots in colorful vaguely military-looking clothing running around with crazy attachments on their guns and even faggier skins on them. There are no MP40s or Webley revolvers with gold plating for example. Every soldier is dressed in uniforms that the average British, American, German or Russian soldiers would be dressed in at the time. Also you can only choose weapons that the faction you're playing as used in the war, so if you play on team Russia you don't get access to an StG44 unless you pick it up from a dead player, but you don't keep the weapon if you die and respawn.

Is the gameplay more realistic? Well it is slower than what CoD has become to be fair, but it's still the same twitch reflex-based shooter gameplay. My best friend from secondary school was in a top CoD2 clan and sometimes when I'd visit I'd watch him play. The gameplay consisted of literally everyone running around with a bolt-action rifle or the scoped version of it dancing around corners or waist-high obstacles so they can go prone behind cover the same second they fired a shot. It honestly looked quite funny because it was like some weird version of whack-a-mole where people would pop up from their waist-high cover for like a split second hoping that they'd catch someone standing up and shoot them, then immediately go prone to get back behind cover before an enemy has the chance to do the same. The reason for that is because hitting someone with a bolt-action in the chest or higher would always be a guaranteed 1 hit kill. The only exceptions would be the maps with more close-quarters areas, in those maps people would sometimes forego using a bolt-action in favor of a Winchester 1897 or StG44 since those were the best for close quarters fights.

Now, when he didn't just play for fun and played to train, he played S&D since that was the mode every tournament would be played in. The difference between TDM and S&D was just that in the latter people were more careful and methodical, obviously since dying in S&D has more negative repercussions for your team than in TDM. However, when it came to the tactics used in engagements, it was the same shit of dancing around corners and waist-high walls then hoping you can spot and kill someone in 1 hit before the same can be done to you.

All that shows is that whether Dave considers something realistic or not comes down to style over substance, as if that's any surprise to any one of us. If there was a WWII game where everyone is dressed and armed in period and country-appropriate uniforms and weapons, but they also jumped 10 feet high and the only way you could get points was to jump on a player's head like he's a goomba after you've "downed" him with your gun, and another one where everyone is flamboyantly dressed in ridiculous looking outfits and their guns are similarly flamboyantly-colored, but it had the exact same mechanics as something like ARMA, he'd consider the former game to be "realistic" while the latter would be "kiddie shit"

is it the fact it's 3am and i'm on five hours or sleep or does that joke not make any sense? I get he's doing a play on the name Uranus, but what does firing X-rays out of your ass have anything to do with someone seeing your ass? If it was some shit like "Why does Uranus keep blocking the sun lately?" then that'd make sense. is it just me or

So no, it doesn't really make sense, his joke don't make sense when he's sober, let alone when he's gin'd up.

He saw "Uranus" and wanted to make a joke about his butthole. Factor the x-rays completely out of the picture. You gotta simplify your thinking if you want to be a mature adult dood.
