oi law school sophomore, what's 'gross negligence'?
It is a standard higher than simple negligence. However, since it's applicable both to criminal law and civil law, I specified criminal negligence, and the standard for actually being guilty of a form of homicide (actually at least two forms in this case require a state of mind not requiring actual intent to kill), since that is more specific.

Its when people start digging through credible sources like wikileaks, or start running their own math and research. This is why holocaust deniers and pizzagate people exist, because when you start finding snippets that appear to be the truth your entire world view gets fucked in the ass.
Doesn't help that people grow with movies nowadays. for some reason boomers tend to think everything is connected. even before Qtards, the vegas-911 link was something talked about.

guess they really like trying to find Pepe Sylvia

Big Tiddy Goth Mommy GF has taken the stand.

I see this as a total win

Some of you are seeming to confuse wether Derek "seems like a bad person" with wether he should be found guilty. Don't get it twisted and strawman "I wouldn't let him babysit my kids" and use that to argue he should be convicted for intent to kill or gross negligence, of which there was neither.
He comes off as being a dumb lughead like a lot of midling IQ cops I've met. I may not find him likeable but that doesn't change the fact that he's not a murderer.

That's something I've found interesting, too. The Right and centrists/moderates aren't deifying Chauvin like the Left did with St. Floyd.

the trial literally just started
  • Raise your right hand, swear under oath
  • test the mic by stating your name
  • "how do you know George Floyd?"
  • "can I tell a story"? "yes"
  • BAAAAAWWWWWWW
What in the goddamn fucking shit, they just allow the prosecution to use blatant emotional manipulation with no relation to the case like that? holy shit

I think they're entirely aware they can't prove actual intent here. They're heavily pushing demonizing the defendant because to believe he's guilty of the depraved heart murder, you have to believe he's an absolute monster. Proving he's an absolute monster doesn't prove he acted with the state of mind, but it's hard to convince a jury that someone who isn't an absolute monster would act in that state of mind, they more or less have to portray him as one.

So far all the prosecution is giving is is malevolent motives. This evil bastard, this pig, this racist murdered a helpless George Floyd for no reason, either just because he loves murdering Negroes, or he's so sick and sadistic he just doesn't care at all. He did it, like Greg Douchette likes to say, "for sport."

The defense has to give us another reason he acted the way he did. One that isn't criminal. The jury and the public only know him from his actions in this case. Unless his entire life actually is just him being a complete and utter bastard, he has to show them the real person he is, and what he felt, and why he did what he did. And of course turn on the waterworks like all these other motherfuckers.

"UP ON THE NEXT STAGE FOR OUR WITNESS, SOME SMALL LITTLE PUPPY THAT GEORGE FLOYD SLIGHTLY GLANCED AT, TO SHOW HOW MUCH OF A SAINT HE WAS"
