Yeah, that's true, he's got a pretty bad record regardless of this trial. I get the feeling people are gonna celebrate that shit as if they just locked up Al Capone.
Im not sure if they will be happy. If this trial wont result in a conviction, but the tax thing will, then you could very easily spin this into "Ho boy, would you look at the government valuing its taxes over the life of black folx."

My parents are pretty old (born right after Jim Crow) and the grandparents are pretty up there too (lived through it) and from what I gather from their mindset isn't too different from some SJW college grad black student would say: Everything is whities fault, racism is the greatest evil of all time, white supermacist systematic systems of oppression, etc. In fact, this is probably what 95% of them all believe.

I've only ever met one other black person who didn't have this self-victimised mindset and was able to look at the faults of their own community for the state that it's in now (like Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder). I truly believe this type of mindset is at the root problem and it's only being exacerbated by the left who want to coddle them and say: "There's nothing wrong with *you*, there's something wrong with *them*".

In that kind of enviroment, why would want to acknowledge the issues in the your own community? You could just listen to Beyonce sing about how great it is to have melanin.
I heard a biologist say that in all primate societies, including human societies, things go to absolute shit when males become scarce. There have been lots of documented cases of this, when a bunch of males die or get sent away, the left over society is fucked for a long time. The males who are around are in high demand, so they don't have to even do much of anything to get laid, and they don't have any reason to stick around with any specific female. all the offspring miss out on male-specific socializing that they need to be competent members of their societies. The adult males don't provide anything of use to the society because they pass on their genes no matter what. The problem of black males going to prison or dying has the exact same effect. If a disease wiped out men in great numbers, the whole of human society would be in the same boat. its not all due to attitude or culture, some of it is about the sexual economy being extremely imbalanced. I have absolutely no idea how to unfuck that, all the solutions I have seen proposed by politicians fail to address it. Things are always so damn complicated.

If you live in Minneapolis or any other major city you should be boarding up your windows and preparing to leave town right about now.

Prosecution completely demolished their own case when they put Floyd's girl on the stand to tell everyone that he was a drug addict and he had a medical emergency 2 months prior where he was foaming at the mouth.

Christ, I definitely rustled some jimmies tonight. I'm not moving any goalposts. I never set up any goalposts to begin with. I've never even taken to the playfield. Seriously, go check my goddamn post history - I've never commented on this psychodrama before now.

If you cut off someone's blood flow by kneeling on their neck for 9 1/2 minutes and they die from cardiopulminary arrest (per the county autopsy report and the two private autopsies, I would link but I'm too fucking tired to care) then in the strictest physical sense it is overwhelmingly likely that you *contributed* to their death. I don't and have never claimed to know if that rises to the level of criminal culpability, at least under Minnesota law. I was rendering an observation - not a verdict. It's the jury's job to apply the law here, not mine; personally I suspect that the most likely outcome is that they split the difference and return a conviction for manslaughter since Floyd's substance abuse and coronary disease was also a factor in his own demise. But who knows?

I look at the facts in front of me and I see two shitty human beings who both made shitty choices. That's just honestly how I feel about the whole thing.
Sorry - I wasn't accusing YOU of moving goalposts, necessarily. "Contributed to death" is just so fucking limp-wristed compared to the rhetoric over the last year. I haven't personally seen you say anything stupid, I'm just making an observation about how bullshit this all is.

"George Floyd was an INNOCENT MAN who was BRUTALLY MURDERED by RACIST COPS!"
"Okay, well, maybe he wasn't innocent, but he still didn't deserve to be MURDERED by RACIST COPS!"
"Okay, well, maybe the cops weren't racist, but they still MURDERED him!"
"Okay, well, maybe they didn't murder him per se, but it's manslaughter for sure!"
"Okay, well, maybe not manslaughter, but they COULD have helped him sooner, and they didn't!"
"Okay, well, maybe he had enough drugs in him to kill a horse, and maybe there's photographic evidence showing Chauvin's knee wasn't even on Floyd's neck the entire time, and maybe the autopsy showed no evidence of mechanical asphyxiation, and also Floyd had COVID and late-stage heart disease, and he was foaming at the mouth, and almost died from a nearly-identical overdose a few months ago, but I STILL THINK HE'S GUILTY! DEFUND THE POLICE!"

It is baffling that they have decided to make George their martyr, from tactical standpoint. A quick dig into who he was paints a dumb ugly picture. Taylor would have been the better hill to die on, but the left doesn't care about dead black women.
The obvious tactical issues are clearly not issues for them considering almost all of the other martyrs weren’t that much better.

Chauvin did not "cut off" Floyd's bloodflow. Floyd died due to a drug overdose which would have occurred either way. He also had COVID, exacerbating already fatal levels of respiratory failure. The physical restraint was irrelevant; a witness today even confirmed no physical trauma was present on Floyd's neck.

I can't be bothered to go through the thousands of pages of the other thread. But wasn't there a death cert someone posted where Floyd pronounced dead at 8pm or something?

normally yeah but the defense is so weak and ill-constructed it seems like defense is going on the offensive, rather than just poking holes in pros' story they're writing a full version on their own
This is actually necessary because of how the narrative has been spun by the media to create a story that has little to no resemblance to the actual facts of what occurred. The Prosecution would be quite happy to just let everyone continue to think Floyd died because a neo-nazi white supremecist kneeled on his neck and stopped him from breathing for 10 minutes while Floyd begged for mercy. The fact that Floyd was high out of his mind on Fentanyl and died as a result of drug overdose with the officer doing the standard procedure to restrain drug addicts who are a danger to themselves isn't really as good for them, but that's the truth of the story.

maybe, maybe not. he mightve been fucked because of the od
That's true, but the point is that he would have at least had medical professionals at the scene to declare him dead instead of four cops. Three of whom is now trying to get the one who "did the deed" on the electric chair (figuratively speaking).

If you cut off someone's blood flow by kneeling on their neck for 9 1/2 minutes
I wish people would watch the video or do some basic research before sperging out.
The cop wasn't on his neck for 9 and a half minutes, even when he was on the neck he used so little pressure that Floyd could still move his head around, and the ME found no injuries to the neck at all, including bruising.

My most fervent wish in all of clown world is that just one high profile city follows through with this to an appreciable degree.
Not the city I’m living in please.
Unironically they just need to pull white cops out of primarily black areas. As far as I can tell, everyone would be happy with that solution.
Having more black cops in black areas would probably be setting a good example and improve the relationship between citizens and cops. But drugs and gangs run so deep in the super poor parts of town that would never be possible.
