The knee did matter to some degree because Chauvin was still restraining Floyd that way after he was unresponsive.
There you go assuming the knee that didn't cause any injury matters. He was also still cuffed "way after he was unresponsive." how did they contribute to the death, since you seem to think restraint matters?
How can you assume I’m wrong when we haven’t heard the rest of the case?
Because I read the laws that he's charged with breaking and know they require an action that causes death, something that the prosecution hasn't even attempted to prove the cop did.
Also because I know that the state supreme court has said that hold can be used for up to 15 minutes, how can an action be a crime when the state supreme court has said 'yeah that's fine'?
If he gets found not guilty then he’s innocent
You got that backwards champ, he's already innocent and remains so until proven guilty.

You know what would make this case more hilarious?- Chauvin getting acquitted from the charges of murdering Floyd but he gets fined/jailed for tax evasion/fraud. You can have a negro die on while you are on duty but you are out of luck if you try to fuck with the IRS.
Would make sense, black lives don't matter...until the democrats need them again for 2024

Like Chauvin could decide to testify at the last minute and do a really bad job, or he could do an excellent job and satisfy jurors that he is innocent.
He ain't testifying, it would be the worst thing for the defense to put him up there and give the prosecution a chance to wreck him during cross and bring up everything but the kitchen sink he forgot to clean last night and probably that too, not to mention anything he says can be used in any future prosecution, related or unrelated to the current circus we're watching now.

This isn't Law&Order where everything gets wrapped during the last five minutes at trial and the defendant takes the stand to be given the one-two punch by the crusading ADA, case closed, justice done, tune in next week, ripped from the headlines!

This is real life, messy, sad, wrong and hilarious all at the same time, with never a happy ending.

Yes, and they should get a fucking medal for it. Fuck George Floyd. Keith Ellison should be disbarred for wasting everyone's time with this frivolous prosecution.
George Floyd was the living embodiment of everything stereotypically bad about black men, Like a living breathing Minstro show, even down to how he looked

Fucking insane in all honesty

Sorry, I didn’t mean to speak out of place, I didn’t know that about the state Supreme Court I’m learning now from what’s being posted here, I only know of what has been said in court. Also how the media is talking about the things I mentioned, they are portraying this as going in the states favour, probably because they are worried about the crazies that will come out if he doesn’t get convicted. I’m not familiar with law but thank you for correcting me.

I apologise and will slip back off to lolcows now, made a fool of myself enough for today.

TV has fucked people into thinking some crazy shit. CSI can't do most of that they do, there's no surprise witnesses and the defense know most of what witnesses are going to say.
I used to mess with the Manhattan ADAs and NYPD crime scene guys and ask "Wait this is your office? It doesn't look like the one on Law&Order" or "You mean you don't have a state of the art lab like on CSI?" and the look on their faces said it all, like they really hated how TV made them out to be, and sometimes said so.

City employees, for the most part, don't benefit from the massive budgets their departments get but they're expected to live up to the public's perception of them. The majority are overworked and underpaid, and get blamed when anything goes wrong. Expert witnesses, witness prep and jury consultants cost money and most departments don't budget for that. Big cases like this one will sometimes get money thrown at them but it all depends on various factors and none of them have to do with the merits of the case.
