She might not 100% fit here, but I sometimes enjoy Caitlin Doughty's videos.
She's a mortician, answering questions about death, making videos about death and... well. A lot of death.
She's sometimes a bit too PC for my taste, but her videos are interesting nonetheless.
She's okay.... She does have a good mindset. HOWEVER.... I worked in the Death Industry. At the time there was an incredible opportunity to make money, but the down side is that there will be one day that it might break you.
Death smells a certain way, sometimes it can get into your sinus cavity and imprint itself into your memory.
That is what happened to me. It was not wiping brain matter off of a wall or scooping body parts into a bag, it was the years of smell that finally got to me when certain other smells triggered it...
Certain Flowers would trigger it and I believe the problem came from a 100 thousand sf. executive suit unit carpet cleaning job. It was a fantastic money maker that I need in 3 days, but I was literally pouring a human body down the storm drain.
Took 10 years to have that situation stop.
Like everything else today's Death Industry is highly regulated so your mileage may vary, but it was a way to get out of of the struggle of being poor and take that money and invest it into something else.
And in life you take what you are given. Which mean I have the utmost respect for those that work with their hands as well with their minds.
Any Asshole that says that you can not make it with a college degree, well there will always need a plumber, an electrician, a Hvac person, a trucker, a farmer, and so on. And over the years there are people like myself that made themselves successful. In my case the Death Industry helped.
And so did working in the Titty Bar during the Crack Head 80's. Good times baby... Good times....
