To answer you seriously, I have not met a person my age giving a shit about April Fools' Day since primary school. Nobody is ‘triggered’, rather they are ‘uninterested’ and sometimes ‘irritated’.

I reckon this change of attitude between generations is because previously the holiday existed to provide a bit of entertainment for the prankers and amusement for the pranked. Nowadays there is a ton of custom-tailored delights everywhere, and so young people see no appeal in this kind of holiday.

On top of that, everybody is expecting lies on this date, and so it is nearly impossible to get somebody. People just greet each other with the customary ‘your back is white’ and respond with ‘hehe, funni’.

I also think that people see more pranks because of the internet, either by the sites themselves or in the news reports, and the saturation makes them mundane and tired. ‘Another site reskinned itself for the occasion? Damn, it only gets funnier.’
