My friend flew across the Atlantic in December, they just had to get a negative test in order to avoid being "quarantined". CDC should stand for "Casual Disinformation Campaign" with what's been going on there lately.

My immune system's so strong after catching the chink flu that I don't even wash my hands anymore. I poop standing up and my balls are twice the size they were before. Unfortunately, my girl who I anecdoted about previously (got a severe and inexplicable bacterial throat infection presumably from wearing masks) is still suffering after-effects. The doctor says they dunno what's going, now they're saying maybe it IS mono even though the test was negative. I'm trying to get her to stop wearing masks completely but I dunno how it'll go with her college classes.

In other news mask compliance here is dropping off and the area is BOOMING. Tons of people from slave states coming down to visit and also buy property. Real estate and construction are both hotter than the sun.

I don't know if this has been posted already, but this opinion piece from someone at AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) about vaccine passports is bothering me more than it probably should be.

The sad thing is, this article does have legitimately good common sense in regards to handling health information on app software, but the problem (even assuming the tech will be used in good faith, because spoiler alert: it won't be) is that HIPPA violation is just about - if not literally - the primary requirement for vaccine passports to be used to the extent I've seen it proposed for. The lack of privacy involved is the very nature of the beast.

It's all so creepy and disgusting to me.

I have a lot of complicated thoughts about how people are responding to it, too. Even if I can understand the fear and anxiety that comes with going down these kinds of rabbit holes, it's still mind-boggling to me how so many people around me just seem to accept the mere idea of these vaccine passport things, even when they know where and how they are likely to be used.

Like I know certain developing and global south nations have been relatively open this whole time. But I keep hearing if your a US citizen in particular, they slap you with certain restrictions, you have to go for specific reasons or the countries themselves just ban you. Before they banned foreign fans from the Olympics, I have been trying to find info on if Japan would allow anyone this year.

Just got back from going out to see GvK in theaters with some friends, it was a great time, once we go into the theater itself the staff didn't give a shit about us sitting together and not wearing masks, same with the rest of the max capacity (50%) theater. First time I've been to one in over a year and damn was it nice.
