I think a lot of people are like that nowadays, I'm the other way around, I was a fan of RT before AH was even a thing. I think that's why I felt so betrayed when they started fucking up and going in the complete opposite direction to their prior trajectory. I remember playing WoW, listening to them talk shit about the latest episode of Lost, reading the comics and watching their side project machinima works. 1-800-MAGIC was good and I will argue till my last breath with anyone that says otherwise. (I also haven't seen it in close to ten years so I might be wrong)
I remember the huge arguments online over whether RT or DigitalPhear was better and I remember Geoff and Burnie arguing over a stupid achievement in Dead Rising for years and now it's all gone. The people involved have mostly left. Luke and Griffon from the comics, Joel, Burnie, Brandon, Aaron, Josh, Adam Ellis, Kara and Ray. I know there's tons more and most of them are doing their own thing but RT really did have something special in the 00's through to the early 10's

Is there any sort of study on why the biggest fans of something or someone became their harshest critics?
