I'd love to have one of our resident psychologists run an analysis on Staph. Are there any lurking on this thread?

You rang?

Stapphy doesn’t have autism, she just doesn’t know how to person very well because she is in a deeply enmeshed relationship with her parents and has never (from the information available here) had successful or long-term peer relationships of any kind.

Everything about her behavior, demeanor, and habits suggests borderline PD to me. I know that gets thrown around a lot and fake-claimed by every zoomer with emotional problems but she really does fit the criteria. She’s so combative towards helping professionals, though (lol social work degree, my ass) that such a diagnosis wouldn’t do her any good. They might record it instead it as C-PTSD (see also: Jude Valentine) which is psychiatric soft-code for a cluster B personality disorder.

I can elaborate if you’re interested but obviously I’m not qualified to actually diagnose her.

She's been giving us lots of random.txt fodder on Twitter today.

I skimmed this thread, and although the demon summoning, plant neopronouns. and hand sanitizer are all very, very funny I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop laughing about the ghost harem. God.
She really takes issue with anyone expressing a political opinion near her that isn’t in her comfortable witch enby uwu Twitter bubble yet she worships a Real Actual Serial Killer.
Also the sheer hilarity of the combination of MJ, Heath Ledger and Richard Ramirez is nearly enough to put me out to pasture. This is too much I can’t believe we’ve been graced with a lolcow of this caliber

Yarrow has confirmed that a surgery like this would fix their GERD, but they don't want to deal with that diet, even if only for a few weeks, for Reasons (ie. having to give up fatty sugary foods even temporarily, and those sweet sweet pity points). Insinuating that this is dumb and they have no right to complain because they're refusing a simple fix like this is, according to them, ableism of the highest order.

Keep in mind that this is according to her. It could be that she really does just need to lose weight and avoid trigger foods, we only get second hand medical information and her medical knowledge is clearly less than zero (given she can't identify her own holes correctly).

can someone please refresh me on the origin of "gyro"

That is how she pronounces "Yarrow" in her videos.

Please do.

Ok.

copy-pasted the criteria from the internet but I promise they’re the same as in my big chonky DSM-V book

BPD is diagnosed on the basis of (1) a pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affect, and (2) marked impulsivity beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by at least five of the following:

1. Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment Staph is extremely dependent on her parents in a way that suggests their early years together may have been characterized by inattentiveness and disinterest on her parents’ part alternating with the kind of helicopter-parenting we see sometimes for SPED kids. This pattern unfortunately teaches children that attention is reliably gained through negative behaviors (acting out, faking sick, high emotionality) because it forces the parent to engage, even if the experience is unpleasant for everyone. Children need attention to survive and will do literally anything to get it.

2. A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation There aren’t a whole lot of relationship examples to pull from here as evidence because again, she’s so socially isolated, but what there is shows a strong indication of this, commonly called “splitting” — people are either good or bad, on her side or irredeemable. You can observe this on a smaller scale with her inability to understand that people with, say, different opinions on a given topic? Might actually be reasonable people and not worth starting fights with or cussing out over something trivial?

3. Markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self Can’t comment much on this one without specific “Who even am I??” type emo-posting as evidence but I will tell you that a stable self-image/sense of self are crucial to activities like finding a job, leaving your family home, being a functional adult...

4. Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating) Well, she spends all her money but her parents certainly don’t give her a reason to save it. She displays impulsive sexual behaviors online (talking about her demon husbandos, grooming minors IIRC). Her self-reports of her eating behavior suggests she is impulsive also in that regard, continually eating foods that aggravate her GERD. The central issue with this criterion is a lack of self-control.

5. Recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behavior This not only applies to her multiple suicidal gestures on record (hand sanitizer, anyone?) but also to her skin and nail picking that she claims to use for mystical purposes.

6. Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days) “Affective” here just means “mood” and I think the rest of it is fairly clear. Side note: I understand why people look at someone like Stapphy and go “LMAO she’s so bipolar!” but that’s not actually how bipolar disorder works or looks. When mood states are this frequent and changeable something else is going on.

7. Chronic feelings of emptiness No idea tbh but it wouldn’t surprise me.

8. Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (eg, frequent displays of temper, constant anger, or recurrent physical fights) Aside from the very real physical altercation she has reported with her mother (and if there was one, you can bet there’s a history of such instances), Stapphy spends a lot of time getting into fights online. Many people do this, I’ve personally never understood the motivation, but in Stapphy’s case and taken together with everything else it’s another signal of BPD. She starts every “fight” and is always the provocateur, because she just wants attention and will do anything to get it. People often say that those with BPD thrive on creating chaos and that’s somewhat true but in my opinion they’re also just trying to get their needs for social interaction met, in the most ass-backwards, aggravating way possible. This is one reason the treatment for BPD, which she’ll never engage with, focuses strongly on appropriate social interaction and remaining calm.

9.Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms Now I’m just spitballing but it seems entirely possible to me that her entire mental ecosystem of demons and dead men is a persistent delusion that results from intermittent dissociative episodes. Everybody dissociates, people with mental illness just do it more often and can get stuck there or attached to being in that state as a coping mechanism.

Inb4 “lol she’s just an asshole” bro no doubt but she can be BOTH.

Chronic emptiness (as well as the lack of self identity) is probably embodied by her desperate attempts to define herself as something like "demonolator" or "witch" or "herbalist" or "antifa" or "enby" or "trans". She can't just be Stephanie because she doesn't know who Stephanie (or Sapphire or Yarrow) actually is, and because she's empty she can't simply EXIST but has to label herself to give herself meaning. Her life is meaningless and she knows it - she contributes nothing to society, she has no loving relationships (platonic or romantic), she does nothing but screech into the void every day for dopamine... and she picks fights because she's not getting the interaction she needs to give her the dopamine hits she craves.

I'd say she's more paranoid ideation than dissociation. The Trumpists are stealing our signs! The neo-nazis want to kill me! That old lady looked at me funny (because I was wearing a dumb hat and I look like a retarded baby)!

Edit: I want to underline your point that MOST of her issues are due to poor socialization while growing up. She claims she was a sped as a kid, do we know if she went to preschool or even mainstream kindergarten? The social skills learned at that level are invaluable and given her relatively older parents I'd guess there weren't a lot of play dates happening in her early childhood.

And we haven't even gone into the fact that she's adopted and has likely always known it. I wonder how her parents framed that...

It's because you're a fat, lazy fucktard who eats like shit and doesn't do anything to give you energy or motivation.

I find it hard to believe that Family Guy was the only option. The last time I was in the hospital (over 10 years ago) they had full cable and movies on demand.

Yes, normal people use pronouns that are consistent with their sex or "gender appearance". They don't expect special pronouns because of mental illness.

I STILL CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT BUT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT IT!

Examples of erroneous folklore "rules" include:

"Poisonous mushrooms are brightly colored." – Indeed, fly agaric, usually bright-red to orange or yellow, is narcotic and hallucinogenic, although no human deaths have been reported. The deadly destroying angel, in contrast, is an unremarkable white. The deadly Galerinas are brown. Some choice edible species (chanterelles, Amanita caesarea, Laetiporus sulphureus, etc.) are brightly colored, whereas most poisonous species are brown or white.

While I actually DO believe that there are fat people with eating disorders SIMILAR TO anorexia nervosa, according to the DSM you cannot be a fat anorexic.

If you’re disabled enough that you are unable to meet the physical and emotional needs of a child, then you shouldn’t have children. Plenty of disabled people are able to be parents because they can meet their child’s needs in spite of their disability, it’s not about not letting disabled people have kids. If a couple is willing to put in the work to figure things out, a disabled person can be a wonderful parent and the OP of the tweet didn’t seem to argue otherwise. It’s not about whether or not a disabled person is worthy of being a parent, it’s about whether or not it’s right to have a child that you knew you couldn’t care for. But calling some Twitter rando a eugenicist means you’re a badass and you win I guess.

i definitely agree the thousands of microlabels that change every other day stem from chronic emptiness. i think it could be a mix of 'tism and borderline, what with autistics wanting everything to be labelled and all. she's a nice milky mixture of both, which makes her my favorite cow.

@flight of ideas from what i know, personality disorders (particularly borderline) pop up when someone has an abusive or unstable childhood. what say you about this and steph's claims of aboose?

She's not autistic, she just wasn't decently socialized as a child. Sure, that could result in autistic traits, but she doesn't have the necessary criteria for an ASD diagnosis.

It's possible that Staph wasn't adopted straight away, and spent a year or two being neglected by her birth mother. Also, chances are high she would have been born addicted to substances; that's going to fuck your development up some.

Pretty certain she was taken at birth:

I think she's denied having FAS but she could be aware enough to lie about that, or her coddling parents trying to protect her from the reality of her white trash birthright.
