General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Late to the convo, but a few of the redditors on some of the threads regarding the BL drama have pointed out something of interest; an apology is not necessarily seen as an admittance of defeat by eastern cultures, but a quick and easy tool to settle anything from inconveniences to arguments. So Miko's and Marine's hiatuses would probably be viewed, at least by the girls themselves, as less of a punishment and more as a show of good faith that they will completely move on from this. Proof that they are being the bigger men (women).

This can come off as bizarre to fans, especially Americans who haven't yet been beaten down by the hell that is customer service; they would only see an apology as a last resort after all other methods of getting out of hot water has failed. Instead of being a display of (virtuous) humility, saying sorry is considered proof that they have nothing left to defend themselves. Granted, the two are still giving people like that author an out for crap that they (the author) started in the first place, but I can tell you from experience that the Chinese and the Taiwanese do this all the time too.

I mean it is YouTube and they were just casually talking.
It's like me making a review of a movie and then getting discovered by the director who constantly looks up reviews on YouTube every single day then him going to Twitter the bitch about what I said.
Now I'm being bombarded with a bunch of butthurt people for having an opinion.
I think that argument works both ways especially for that author.
It wasn't directed at Miko or Marine, who basically didn't say anything wrong. It was directed at the Doujin Artist splurging on Twitter.

lol This was one of the games i recommended thousands of pages ago, sup, ping me for more sick recommendations

Dont worry the game has no combat or game overs is mostly shilling doing fetch quests and upgrading the boat, ofc she is going to be a wreck when you have to do the actual objective of the game

Kinda fucked up to see a country that just a few hundred years ago featured heavily armed melee combat
That was never a thing. Don't be a retarded weaboo. Japan was a country with starving peasants using garbage steel to rob and rape other peasants. They had to be lied to about "samurai honor" to stop being bandits when the wars were over and they had no jobs.

Polka is streaming Night in the Woods again. The co-creater, Scott Benson, is was in chat. I've seen people in the chat kindly reminding him he's responsible for the death of Alex Holowka, one of the other co-creators of the game.

For those not in the know, well documented lolcow queen Zoe Quinn made very public, out of nowhere, and completely unsubstantiated "me-too" claims about Alex in summer 2019. Scott, in typical male feminist fashion, decided to "believe all wahmen" and threw Alex completely under the bus even though HE Knew Alex was very mentally unwell and had a chance of suicide.

A good 'post-mortem' article summing up the controversy - https://from-the-id.medium.com/death-of-a-game-developer-e60a64a0b4e6

Here's what the pussy himself had to say about the suicide after it happened (a long but interesting read into the mind of a limp wristed self absorbed jerk) - https://medium.com/@bombsfall/alec-2618dc1e23e

Also in the immediate time the day of the suicide - https://archive.md/1ssbJ

Link to the post in Quinn lolcow thread that kicks off the madness.

It's a sad tale of an intense guy with obvious mental illness not receiving any support from his friends and family, all because they worry about what's in it for themselves and feminism.

You know, both the BL artist and Cover are kinda in a no-win situation if Marine and Miko wanted to really put their foot down. Imagine if Marine, Miko, or both put their foot down and graduated over this. Cover would catch shit for firing two well loved talents and the BL artist would never get over the shit their catching...and it would be partly Cover's fault and partly their own.

Point is, BL artist is kinda running a big risk in pulling this leech shit, they are already catching shit but imagine if they got anyone fired.
While Marine and Miko would probably never go as far as graduate anytime soon. Imagine this happen to someone in less stable position like Akirose, Choco or even Mel and they decide that “it’s about time”. The artist will probably either live stream take a huge dildo up his ass as an apology or just retire and become hikki or even leave the hometown.

I appreciate the talented artists who actually make the art and rig the Vtuber Live2D and 3D models, but It seems like a classic case of "cool idea gone wrong" since it looks like a huge money laundering scheme as in terms of viewer count theyre even bigger than the likes of pewdiepie but no one IRL talks about them despite them having supposedly hundreds of thousands of "fans" and totally not fake sockpuppet accounts like every even remotely popular streamer does these days just to attract actual viewers with a few thousand really dedicated weebs and the occasional casual fan who lowkey likes them.

Not to mention they could, you know, stay on sites like billibilli and niconico and their respective countries platforms but only spam youtube for that sweet sweet western currency that is worth more than the currency in their home countries.

I only bring this up because when a 2 second shitpost video, featuring a Vtuber burping or farting or some other basic function of life on Earth, gets over 4.4 million views in less than an hour, WITH ad revenue it really gets the noggin joggin.

I hope Ina does more drawing ASMR, between her stomach noises and how embarrassed she sounded, it was a blessing.

... have you actually watched any of these people? You think they have the dexterity to handle hundreds of socks?

>4.4 million views

Mind linking that? 'cause no one makes those numbers on average. Must be a hell of a shitpost.
