Black History Forever!

(Peter Savodnik's essay that contains the passage Bobby quoted.)
You see this a lot in smoothbrains like Blob; I'm sure it happens regardless of ideology but since Twitter is mostly of a leftward bent, I notice many more examples on the left. A well-written and well-argued essay is combed through to find a single line that can be pulled out and used to make a snarky reply, effectively ignoring the entire argument for a cheap gotcha, dismissing its points altogether and signaling to others that they don't need to bother reading it either ("clearly this guy's a racist for not wanting to be lectured about black history all the goddamn time!"). I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even look at the essay, but instead saw someone else commented on it and he aped their hot take. Reading takes time away from his endless tweeting and gorging, after all.

Good read, btw, thanks for the link. Bob wishes he could write anything nearly as well.

Reflecting on faux intellectualism as @Therealhomor pointed out to us.... real smart people have the ability to get points across without having to use $5 words.

Outside of academic situations where large words are actually called for for definition's sake, scientists don't talk like the kid from Dexter's Lab in casual conversation, they don't have to, and like most people, smart or not, don't "want" to either... (and even then, research papers have abstracts and conclusions for a reason, so you can get the point BEFORE you get lost in table after table of otherwise useless data)

Seriously, I had an electronics engineer for a father who could build the guidance system for a Tomahawk cruise missile on the kitchen table if you gave him the parts, but, he also could tell a mean knock-knock joke.... and cussed at the football game on TV in plain English, like everyone else.... the idea that "Smart" people only use "smart" words is a Hollywoodism, which is why Bob tries so hard to emulate it. He thinks that's how the world works because he doesn't believe his Holy Grail of media would LIE to him.

Even a genius level intellect wouldn't ask for "refrigerated pasteurized bovine lactations" at the breakfast table, they'd say "hey, pass the milk, would ya?" like everyone else..... because getting your point across as clearly and quickly as possible is the whole POINT of language.
Even scientist-to-scientist (*not that scientists are inherently smart*) conversations using acronyms and abbreviations. If everyone in the room knows the common and scientific name for that species, its easier to use whichever is shorter (often times you'll hear abbreviations of scientific names, i.e. Heterodon platirhinos = "platy"/"platie".)

Even the reason well-known things have acronyms (i.e. DNA, PCR, GIS, PLA2, etc.) is because ITS EASIER, nobody in their right mind wants to spit out "de-ox-y-ri-bo-nu-cle-ic a-cid" umpteen times a day when they can just say "DNA" and get the point across.

It's almost a pity he'll die a virgin in a few years. Another fifty years, and we'd actually have had to take him seriously.

Care to explain why it’s a good idea your boy Biden is building the wall Bob?
Easy. Biden is from Blue Team™, therefore whatever he does is good because Blue Team™ are good.
If you are GOP, you are already guilty of something and need to be incarcerated:

Perhaps Blob could build some special camps to concentrate Republicans in and give himself a snazzy title like, I don't know, ”The Leader”? They could even go around giving each other special greetings like ”Hail Victory!”.
Bobby is still dead set on vaccine passports, ACLU's reservation notwithstanding:

Let me check my calendar.

Yup, today ends in a Y so Roberto de las Peliculas is calling for the deaths of his enemies.
> Where do conservatives come from?

Homes where the parents teach their kids discipline, why?
Of course Bob would hate Black Mirror, he wants the robotic dogs from "Metalhead" to hunt down the obsoletes.

It's not as if Blob's side compared everything Trump did for the past four years to The Handmaid's Tale or anything.

No. There were like two alien wars but there was never a "purge" that got rid of all the "undesirables." That's more like the delusion MovieBlob has.
There was literally a Eugenics Wars, and since the lore is sort of vague and Bob doesn't know shit beyond "I like TOS campiness and STD stronk wahmen", he probably thought it was a really, really good thing.
Also, late in WWIII there'd be purges of mutants and undesirables.

Black History Forever!

Fun Fact: The person behind Negro History Week (which would later become Black History Month), Dr. Carter G. Woodson, only wanted it to be a temporary thing. He wanted there to be a point in history where we didn't need to go into detail about how much black people have contributed to society, and believed in a world where all races were viewed equally.
"This is the meaning of Negro History Week. It is not so much a Negro History Week as a History Week. We should emphasize not Negro History, but the Negro in history. What we need is not a history of selected races or nations, but the history of the world void of national bias, race hate, and religious prejudice. There should be no indulgence in undue eulogy of the Negro. The case of the Negro is well taken care of when it is shown how he has influenced the development of civilization."
But it seems like so many people supposedly crusading for black people have never even heard of what many consider to be the father of black history, or what he actually wanted to come of Black History Month.

I haven't seen any BLM people who actually care about the old black advocates like MLK or even Malcom X, or even actual black history. It's all about the power and the grift, which is a shame because the freedom movement, protests, and even the slave life are actually pretty interesting and worth teaching when it comes through and unbiased lens.
If even the darkies don't really care about it I highly doubt Movie Dick would even consider thinking about real black history without some woman on twitter bringing it up to him first. Or if they made some capeshit about it.

We've already seen this with Bob talking about the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment after the character Isaiah Bradley from the limited series Truth: Red, White & Black was introduced to the MCU in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Well, when the George Floyd riots started last year, the rioters kept claiming that Dr. King said "A riot is the language of the unheard" when defending themselves. While he did say that, it was in the middle of a speech where he addressed his followers by saying that while he understood why people would riot, he was ultimately condemning the actions and wanted to find a better way for the voices of the civil rights activists to be heard.
Now I wanted to say something about the fact that we have lived over these last two or three summers with agony and we have seen our cities going up in flames. And I would be the first to say that I am still committed to militant, powerful, massive, non-violence as the most potent weapon in grappling with the problem from a direct action point of view. I'm absolutely convinced that a riot merely intensifies the fears of the white community while relieving the guilt. And I feel that we must always work with an effective, powerful weapon and method that brings about tangible results. But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity.
And of course, those advocates only read those eight words without understanding the context behind it all to justify their actions. This is why I chose to be a history major, because somebody needs to correct idiots like these.

I find it hilarious how the same people who constantly remind you that MLK was a socialist go curiously silent when you mention that he was a Christian.

Well, I'm gonna need a direct citation on that because trying to parse the Star Trek wiki is like trying to decipher an alien language to me. But I'm certain if there's was a "Eugenics War" in Star Trek's history it was 100000% treated as an atrocity that helped nothing.

Yes, originally it happened in the 1990s and produced Khan.

They'll always smugly tell you he said "riots are the voice of the unheard" ignoring that the entire rest of that speech was condemning them as stupid, ineffective and immoral.

Is Bob saying he wouldn't want to be King, he would just want to be the architect of the final solution to the miracle whip problem or run the secret police?
Jesus Bob.
Bob probably dreams of running the secret police in an America ruled by his waifus.
