Oh no, this 56% witness is a forensic scientist specializing in drugs. There's no way this isn't going to be a follow-up on the gut-punch that the previous forensic lady just delivered.

Wait, did Nelson decline to cross-examine the first forensics lady? Has he done that for any other witness so far?
Mostly for the emotional witnesses in the beginning and/or the ones that he hasn't felt will contribute much substance.
In this case, it seems more likely that because the forensics investigator offered a lot of helpful info to the defense, he didn't really need to get more out of her.

On the other hand, if Minneapolis breaks out in riots again, the police department will absolutely lose more cops. By design, there is no win for the state.

Of the 7 commentators on HLN, 2 of them are high on copium and the rest of them are like "How could the MPD fuck up this badly?"

Shit the defense didn't even question the forensics chick. I guess they thought the prosecution made all their points for them.
I know I just made the comment about Hanlon's Razor, but let me clarify that I could fully see CNN pushing the narrative that the prosecution fucked up "on purpose" if there is an acquital. I mean, they might actually believe that; these people thought a guilty verdict was as good as rubber stamped a week ago.

This is going greeeeeeeat...
You know what helps me sleep at night?

For all of Big Tech's push to basically kick the right off of the internet, it's still all this woke shit and Biden pressers that get downvoted to oblivion, to the point that Youtube literally had to code in a way to hide dislikes.

No. I mean, I will joke about that, but I don't actually believe it simply because of Hanlon's Razor.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I think the prosecution is just that stupid.
I wonder if maybe having a 15 person team is part of it? Like, perhaps it's a case of overcomplicating the task and ending up with confusion and a lack of effectiveness due to poor communication?
Lawyer 1: "Oh hey we're going into court, you're up L5. L6, did you remember to brief the first witness for today?"
L6: "I thought I was supposed to brief tomorrow's witness? L7 did you brief today's witness like I asked?"
L7: "I briefed the witness last Thursday. I thought L8 was supposed to brief them. L9, can you get L8 on the line, see if they got the witness briefed?"
L9: "... I thought I was up today, though?"
etc.
TO BE FAIR, that's literally the reason why I refuse to take the COVID vaccine. I'd rather get COVID than trust Pfizer.
I'd sooner trust a fox to look after a henhouse than trust any of them at this point.

can the prosecutor really downgrade the charges mid-trial like that?
Its not downgrading, they charge you with multiple things and the lesser ones are "Lesser Included Offenses". The Jury is then allowed to pick from the options or acquit.
Ahaha, the prosecution told their boy "you better not say he ate drugs again."
They... they aren't allowed to do that though. Lawyers aren't allowed to tell witnesses what they can or cannot say.
