Anyone thinking he's going to drink like hell when its time for the anime to go to shit? (or just storm out, barring any contractual obligation?)Imagine being yuki kaji the guy idolized eren to keep fighting to the end only for isayama to reduce his character to a genocidal psychopathic incel.
TFW everyone got so distracted with Pigs, they didn't realized it was birds all alongI told you people it was birds. All along every time something plot important happened and a bird flies by it wasn't symbolism the bird literally did it. It was birds. BIRDS.
Eh, still not a fan of TG's ending but Ishida was at least honest about his burnout and he has my sympathy.
Do you really thing he had a ending in mind?Wow, Ishiyama really faceplanted didn't he. What was the point of all that? Erens character completely destroyed, the entire events of the manga made pointless. I guess he just wanted to wrap it up, but surely he had something better in mind than that originally?
Maybe he'll go full Erenfag. (Kidding, but there are so many English voice actors who are massive lolcows that I have to wonder if there are any in the Japanese VA world too)Anyone thinking he's going to drink like hell when its time for the anime to go to shit? Eren told the SC and comrades in P A T H S that they had to kill him to stop the Rumbling.First off, what happened to Worm-kun? It sounds like he flat-out disappears. It was the source of Ymir's power, so Eren's death shouldn't cause it to die, right?
Historia wanted to have a kid that she didn't have to let eat her. Also, I don't think there was any canon indication that Eren would have a kid. Maybe that purported last panel was supposed to be him (it probably was), but I figured that even if it was, it would have been some vision or dream or monologue image rather than actually him. What happened to Eren having a child? If the farmer was the father, then why even bring it up in the first place?
Because he merked nearly everyone off the face of the planet. He couldn't forgive himself for that-- at least, he didn't figure he could be forgiven. Why couldn't he just come back as a human and secretly run off with Mikasa?
His own motivations (as far as they were apparent before this chapter) was to destroy the imminent threat posed to the island by killing most of everyone and offer himself as a grand devil figure to be stopped by his friends who would be hailed as heroes; he also wanted to prevent Eldia from taking the course of action that would result in Historia's family line becoming a breeder lineage that eats their parents for the Beast Titan. What was the point of the Rumbling if it didn't help provide safety for Paradis and why would Eren go through with it if he knew that would happen or knew it was a possibility?
It seems like they're still on the verge of war, only now their greatest weapon has been taken away.
Also, why wouldn't everyone who helped stop Eren run the risk of execution if they ever stepped foot on Paradis again? They didn't stop the war, and they lost their greatest weapons. Without the power of the titans, they're basically sitting ducks
Protection from the queen. Also, why wouldn't everyone who helped stop Eren run the risk of execution if they ever stepped foot on Paradis again?
It's a stupid-but-funny joke that exists because it was revealed (or, confirmed, really) in chapter 138 that whether Eren would activate the Rumbling hinged entirely on whether Mikasa told him (presumably) that she loved him as a man. Against all evidence, most thread regulars actually think this joke has argumentative merit and so they pose it as a legitimate criticism. What is this about Eren starting the Rumbling because he thought Mikasa wasn't in love with him?
He was willing to sacrifice the lives of the entire rest of the world for Paradis and so that Historia's bloodline wouldn't be predicated on eating their parents for the continued survival of the island. I, for one, buy a defeated Eren that couldn't choose to genocide the world according to his future vision or condemn Historia's bloodline to parriphagy (it's a word now, deal with it) would retreat into the woods with Mikasa to live out the remainder of his life.Would he be willing to sacrifice the lives on Paradis just for Mikasa? That feels like it diminishes his motivations and character.
It doesn't feel like he ever intended to have Eren successfully complete global genocide. At the least, the actual deciding point for that cuts much closer to the so-dubbed "Battle of Heaven and Earth". The Rumbling was the series' Checkhov's Gun ever since the end of the Female Titan arc, when they found out about the Wall Titans and Armin theorized that those Titans were going to go out for a walk. When we got to the actual Rumbling event, in the intervening time between the start of the Rumbling and the final confrontation, the motivations of those who would go to fight Eren were already able to be assumed or were established. As for why this all happened, I think I may have an idea. I think there is a chance that somebody told Isayama that he couldn't have Eren commit global genocide.
It's one of those "unclear happy omens that show your lost loved one is still watching over you maybe" things that some stories do. The value is to make you think "aww" without giving you enough to actually think that you actually saw an afterlife intervention-- it's audience aftercare that also retains the heaviness-of-heart of the loss.I mean, Eren turned into a bird apparently.
Honestly given how Eren's JP VA was technically responsible for shaping Eren's current arc (since his voice acting for Eren gave Isayama a better understanding of Eren's character) and is a very successful VA who has been in lots of stuff so at worst he may be disappointed, but I think he'll be fine.Maybe he'll go full Erenfag. (Kidding, but there are so many English voice actors who are massive lolcows that I have to wonder if there are any in the Japanese VA world too)
Just because everything can be explained, doesn't mean that all of it is good. I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I like the ending (I'm still processing it overall), but it mostly makes sense on a narrative level. You made me read a shit ton of cope, @Zero Day Defense. Your name rings true.
Ok, that is fair enough for me.Just because everything can be explained, doesn't mean that all of it is good. I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I like the ending (I'm still processing it overall), but it mostly makes sense on a narrative level.
Nah lemme speed up the process a bit, its shit and you don't like it.I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I like the ending (I'm still processing it overall)
