How will Eren be stopped?

It feels mandatory at this point to end a modern day big epic franchise on a massively disappointing note. Is there any franchise on the scale of GoT or AoT that will be allowed to end on a strong note? Or does writing something on that scale eventually rob you of your sanity?
Fullmetal Alchemist was pretty epic and had a great ending. Maybe the best ending in Shonen.

Plus, the author somehow made beating a homunculus who became a god and could create the power of the sun in his hand make complete and total sense.

Fuck bros. I miss Hiromu Arakawa.

FMA is great, but it ended over a decade ago, so I wouldn't say it counts.

Still, ya gotta love how literally every character, including Kimblee, those two furries that palled around with Edward, and even fucking Pride got a more respectful, better written conclusion than most of the cast (including the protagonist) of AoT.

gabi really suplexed falco's shit first thing after getting de-titanized

(that's all I got right now-- that, and the way that the actual final page went versus the much-touted preliminary final panel makes me think there was some last minute reorientation even though I suspected there was going to be a Code Geass-esque motivation, which... I don't know, am I supposed to be irritated about that?)

I mean, the problem is that these series are being created and built up to multimedia empires without having an ending planned, something you absolutely need from the start. It’s nearly impossible to write a satisfying ending by the seat of your pants; even if the ending you end up with over the development of the story ends up different than the one planned, it will still be more satisfying because you had a goal for the series in the first place.

FMA was brought up, and I would bet money she had a good idea from the start where the end of her story would go from the start, if it’s not necessarily where it ended up. In retrospect, Eren dying at the start was absolutely as far as this series was planned, and all it could do was pilfer momentum from a hundred chapters prior.

I’d compare Eren to a fusion between Elliot and Chris Chan
can you really be either one if the woman you're pining for actually loved you and you pushed her away because you were going to do some straight demon shit on 80% of the world for the sake of her and all your friends

it kind of seems like Eren's the supreme volcel, seeing as he also decided to stay dead

He even had him say something awkward as hell about the woman he loved before he died lol

God Ajin ended so fucking well and then this series just sorta limps to the finish line. Okay bare minimum is done bye. This series is for the birds.

Avatar The Last Airbender was also planned out from the start. There were revisions on how to get to the end, but the character arcs and ending was pre planned. Meanwhile the sequel series is a good example of what happens when a one season show suddenly has to be expanded to three.

Game of Thrones is another perfect example of that exact thing; the ending of the first book is great and is a culmination of the character arcs that actually mattered while also serving the story itself. Then everyone meanders about for a phone-books worth of paper.

First impression is that it's perfectly in character. I don't trust this guy to have had more than a few boners his entire life between being beaten up by town bullies, inflicting upon himself suffering mind-rending trauma, and then having his entire life spoiled just because he kissed a girl's hand.

This-this can't be real. There are so many thing that don't make sense about this. I haven't actually read the leaks in full, so you'll have to forgive me if I make some mistakes, but here goes.

First off, what happened to Worm-kun? It sounds like he flat-out disappears. It was the source of Ymir's power, so Eren's death shouldn't cause it to die, right? What happened to Eren having a child? If the farmer was the father, then why even bring it up in the first place? When does Eren see, "that sight"? Is it when he is a bird? Also, how and why is Eren a bird, if that is what the manga is trying to imply? Titan powers are gone, so how could he use them to turn into a bird, and for that matter, what is stopping him from turning into something else? Why couldn't he just come back as a human and secretly run off with Mikasa? What was the point of the Rumbling if it didn't help provide safety for Paradis and why would Eren go through with it if he knew that would happen or knew it was a possibility? It seems like they're still on the verge of war, only now their greatest weapon has been taken away. If Eren had gone through with this plan, people like Sasha and Hange may have had their lives prolonged for a bit at the very least. Also, why wouldn't everyone who helped stop Eren run the risk of execution if they ever stepped foot on Paradis again? They didn't stop the war, and they lost their greatest weapons. Without the power of the titans, they're basically sitting ducks, and I'm not sure any nations would be willing to help them anymore. What is this about Eren starting the Rumbling because he thought Mikasa wasn't in love with him? How did he not see that she was in love with him? Also, he would have just run off with her had he known apparently. Would he be willing to sacrifice the lives on Paradis just for Mikasa? That feels like it diminishes his motivations and character.

As for why this all happened, I think I may have an idea. I think there is a chance that somebody told Isayama that he couldn't have Eren commit global genocide. From there, we may have gotten here because Isayama just didn't care about the story if it couldn't have the ending he envisioned, or he poured gasoline all over the plot and set it on fire. This could also explain why the ending panel was changed. I believe Isayama also said that the manga wouldn't have a happy ending, and the ending is... less....grim(?) than expected, which also supports this little theory.

It seems at every given opportunity, not only is the wrong choice made, but perhaps the most nonsensical one, especially with Worm-kun just disappearing. It's almost as if someone were reading this thread and wrote the ending focusing on the topics here and coming up with the dumbest ideas possible. I mean, Eren turned into a bird apparently. Who knows maybe this is all some elaborate prank. April Fool's Day was just a few days ago, and the plot is so nonsensical, it would make sense, but I know that's pretty unlikely.

So do the people who guessed the Rumbling would be stopped by birds in the poll get any prizes?
