Bullshit it wouldn't have a hard time getting past ethics. You could easily get a study about multiple minute long lung compression from another person's weight if not for Floyd dying last year making it politically incorrect.

how do they come up with these numbers?
i'm a layman, i'll consneed that this guy knows more than me, but I don't see how they can use these absolute figures when it's not something thats been measured.
Unless George had an arterial catheter inserted and was hooked up to a continuous blood gas spectrometer (an impossibility) all of the 'experts' graphs are pure speculation. Even having pulse oximeter data would absolutely not demonstrate the amount of free oxygen available in Floyd's body, only the amount bound to hemoglobin. George had no monitoring going on during the arrest (obviously). This dude is a total quack, any medical professional listening to this idiot would cringe at the nonsense he's spouting. The graphs and the pseudo scientific garbage is designed to fool the jury who I assume have no medical background.

They're cherry picking studies to discredit.

Doctor: 'These studies are irrelevant because they use weightplates instead of a knee'

There are studies that have specifically looked at handcuffed prone restraint with knee on back and knee on neck.

Results: A double-knee technique applies more weight force than single-knee techniques. The Wisconsin single-knee technique provides the least weight force of single-knee techniques. Law enforcement officer body weight is irrelevant to prone-force weight with single-knee techniques. With double-knee restraint, it has a modest influence. Our data do not support the hypothesis of restraint asphyxia.

>Euro accent so you know he's smrt
>science man removed from the real world
>shows a bunch of sciencey graphs to say Floyd can't sneed

He's almost the perfect witness for reddit midwits, only way he'd be better if he was actually a stunning and brave trans WOC.
All that's needed now is the prosecution to recreate the scene using limited edition Minneapolis Police/George Floyd funko pops and Derek is done for.

I'm not a medical professional but I've had some medical training and let me tell you if you can talk you are breathing. And like you said unless this is being measured during the event in question, this is all bullshit and speculation, anyone not sleeping through high school/university would know this.

I'm just confused as hell by this guy. I've NEVER heard a doctor speak like this. Not Cardio docs, urologists, gynecologists', GPs, et cetera. This level of calculation is insanely unreliable and extremely unfeasible. He's a lung doctor, but he's not Sherlock Holmes.

Him talking about studies are painful. He's literally saying the studies are useless because they don't use his metric. And he's countering it with pressure. But his calculations used uniform weight. It's a reddit tier dismissal, which is probably why they love him.

>His leg kicked out and that's him dying.

Wanna know what also causes blood loss?

The heart. Not pumping.

Was there any evidence of the level injury necessary to create enough compression on the back of Floyd's neck to fully close his glottis? If I recall there was zero bruising on his neck, and it would take considerable pressure to completely close it.
What they should be arguing is that George was already compromised because he had Covid and had ingested Fentanyl, the Opiate in particular will cause severe respiratory depression. They could forward the argument that any pressure put on the diaphragm for a person in his condition would have contributed to his death. The problem with that is it wouldn't get them any kind of murder or manslaughter conviction, and they'd need to prove that Chauvin could some how have reasonably known that his restraint technique was reckless endangerment, which is a fucking long bow for a city beat cop who I don't think is an off duty doctor.
