Well I lived in a country in a civil war state and it sucked hard. Mainly because the probability of being killed by some asshole with a grudge, a thief breaking in or a soldier who had been up 72 hours straight from a hostile area being quick on the draw was not only high it was a 24/7 thing. Most of the time nothing happened but it could happen all of the time. Not a pleasant way to live especially when there were food shortages, which was all the time.

It's not that hard to see your friends and families on the faces of the people you end up killing, so I don't think it's that big of a stretch. Either way, you've got hundreds of thousands of well trained and well armed dudes with fighting experience that were more than happy to die in Iraq. Imagine what they'd do in their own neighborhoods. The point about optimal conditions in war doesn't really exist, at least not in my experience. Any retard can kill you extremely easily if they want to, and you have to wait 20 minutes for permission to shoot back at the people shooting at you. Take the chains off and that war is over in a couple weeks. Fighting for the "good guys" in a forever war fucking sucks because you're not allowed to win.

You are assuming an honest and impartial jury. While the case is supposedly beyond a reasonable doubt and the jury will be reminded of that fact it will probably come down to chauvin having to prove innocence as much as the prosecution have to show guilt.

I'm still betting on a mistrial though, there will almost certainly be someone on that jury who is going to vote guilty nomatter what and probably someone equally on the acquittal side. Everything is too polarised and even if the jury say they haven't seen everything about the case they will have seen way more than they think. I'm not even from America and I couldn't not have heard all about the evil racsit cop murdering the black guy while he cried for his mum from the media.

Any jury member who doesn't vote yes will have their identity leaked to the media and will be pilloried as a white supremacist. (Yeah even the black ones) They'll have reporters calling them, they risk being fired from their job, joggers and antifag will show up at their house. It's not much of a stretch to think they'll be physically attacked or even killed.

Chauvin is innocent, in a non clown world he would never have been charged, but every member of that jury will be well aware of what faces them if they don't convict. Chauvin's only hope is for 1 jury member being brave or stupid enough to step up and we end up with a mistrial. But chances are they'll be looking to convict him of the lesser charge and will latch on to any evidence presented that will let them do so with a clear conscience.

You're also not gonna get a civil war in a major nation without some kind of buildup or foreign backing from another major power. Even in a case like the Troubles it was decades of guerrilla attacks and hit-and-run encounters and not a full blown conventional war. I don't think a civil war could ever reasonably happen (again) in the US, it just depends on how much the administration wants to allow riots and shit to happen. Chaz and other tardouts like it could've been dispersed and shut down in an hour (that's assuming a very slow and careful approach) had authorities wanted to, but they didn't because it serviced a specific agenda. The people on top are so far removed from everything that whether or not our lives get worse because of all this they're completely unaffected. At best they're apathetic, at worst they want this shit to happen for political machinations.

Are there? So far I've had two experts tell the Jury, and have pretty good testimony, that it was from a lack of oxygen. The defense needs some serious experts to actually cast that doubt on what the experts have said so far. That hasn't been done yet.

Will it be done? We'll see.

Have you ever been choked or had your airway cut off at any point in your life then attempted to scream for help? Its completely impossible.

The very fact that Floyd was able to keep screaming at the top of his lungs while apparently suffocating to death, WHILE also suffering no damage to any of his surrounding tissues and muscles according to the autopsy should be the #1 focus.

There is no going back to some mythical centrist position. A significant proportion of the country has descended into a religious mania and are escalating rapidly. A moderate politician has no hope of combating this given that many of our largest corporations and government bureaucracies are controlled by the cultists. There's only 2 ways I see this going, either the prog left has their way and we end up in a totalitarian dictatorship complete with mandated public struggle sessions and mass internment camps or a no shit fascist comes to power who will do what needs to be done. Either way mass death seems inevitable. I'm very pessimistic about what's coming.

One thought I had that didn't make it into the last post is that not knowing what side anyone's on would seem to lead directly to the formation of little paramilitary bands, each with their own agenda. They might consolidate, they might not.
