It's always very telling though how he will respond to even the smallest form of criticism even if it's from some 17 year old girl who, as far as I could tell, was not even apart of the standom. It makes him seem paraniod, like he is worried that these call out posts will snowball into a bigger deal so he proactively reaches out. it's entirely more likely that he's just a reasonable guy and people with crazy theories come to their senses when they hear reasonable explanations. even with the speedrunning drama, darkviper still thought he cheated and only changed the opinion that "the things dream did weren't out of crazy manipulation". I haven't seen anything that points to dream paying anyone bitcoin for anything seems like he offered it to someone to help him clear up information and that person even said he never ended up paying anything. most cases of people "changing their minds" are in cases where we find out later that it was all just a big goose chase. like with the alt accounts that weren't his, that he was a "doxer" and a lot of other stuff. not everything needs to be a huge conspiracy

The speed run case was the first taste of the fact dream is unhinged and this particular case is him using the John Swan defense. I don't think dream paid rooted to fuck off I just think rooted is autistic and tried to bite off more than they can chew to the point they damaged controlled and gave up despite them having most of dreams info correct. Dream wants to seem reasonable cause of money which is why people call dream a manipulator which isn't even far off.

This is something he should've done from the very start. He has now set a precedent that he'll address every bit of drama and respond to any accusation thrown his way. So if he doesn't respond to a particular issue it comes across as him not caring about that issue. He will have to keep responding to every issue, problem with that is that at some point an apology won't be enough for the mob. They'll demand he takes further action besides a couple of tweets and maybe a pastebin. No clue what that will look like but it'll probably signal the beginning of the end for him.

Them encouraging their fans to ship them with each other being a bad idea (that we learned is a bad idea years ago when youtubers had colorful hair) aside, it genuinely feels like these people have not only heard all the criticism of their behavior around managing their fanbase and interacting with each other, but also meticulously dissected and discussed how far they can take shit before they need to backpedal to avoid serious controversy.
Not to rant, but I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if many of Dream(Team)'s questionable actions and decisions were solely made specifically to bait as much as they can then quickly pull out and essentially sic their audience at the people who reacted to their bait.
