Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Just coming in to add an additional reason why night mind is objectively worse than he used to be.
As well as running out of interesting ARGs to cover and trying to make the non spooky spooky, his video writing is much worse. I think it was “this room does not exist” was the particularly boring ARG that I first noticed, but he just placed a full 15 minutes from the arg where the point was that the characters were in a time loop with no commentary until it was over, and ever since then I realised that he frequently just places long stretches of the thing he’s talking about that most people would skip because they understand the point one minute in and say nothing of worth afterwards.
I started noticing it in all his videos where he’d just play a large stretch of the topic (usually the silent visual heavy parts or the noisy cacophonous messes that are deliberately hard to listen to) and give one sentence explaining it. Very poor practice.

There was also his boring Dexter ARG where it wasn't interesting to cover especially with the fact that before you start the video, you know that it won't be too immersive to begin with due to obviously being from a TV show.

The thing with Night Mind though with his videos is that there are many ARG's out there that could be worth looking at but Night Mind only cares about covering the "best" ones or those that started out super great at the start. This is especially due to how Night Mind is really pretentious and acts like he is the King of ARG's who knows everything about them.

Nexpos unsettling things on the internet and his worldcorp video are the only vids I like from him.

Mutah makes good content still, albeit less creepy content now sadly.

Just browse through the thread dude. It's not that long. I'll give a few of my favorites:

Horror Stories has short, quickly digestible videos. He went off a bit about poltics and exposed his right leaning beliefs but is otherwise alright.

Fascinating Horror does the same stuff that HS does, only he's a brit. His videos are a bit longer but just as enjoyable.

Wendigoon has been making some good stuff lately. He's my newest favorite horror channel. I like his voice and has a good vibe to him.

Billy Styler got his start analyzing Trever Henderson stuff, but makes decent enough content. A bit longer though and more like Nexpo.

Night Mind is the Pepsi to Nexpo's Coke, a bit of a different flavor but still going after the same demographic. Also he's a furry.

ReignBot is probably one of the more popular horror channels. Does okay stuff, though I prefer her older works into ARG's when they were interesting and not oversaturated.

ScareTheater is... okay. A bit of an annoying voice, but his stuff is decent enough. I use it as background noise when playing games or doing chores.

Shrouded Hand has a funny accent and makes good stuff. Overall decent channel.

Tats TopVideos makes some good stuff as well.

Those are the ones I personally watch on the regular. As I said before, browse the thread for other recommendations if you don't like any I just suggested.

I haven't seen him mentioned more than once, but HorribleReviews is an older channel that has some good disturbing movie covers. He came about before SpookyRice (who is also fantastic) but they have the same goofy perspective when covering movies while not being over the top and cancer. His upload schedule isn't regular but he's a funny dutch guy who covers grisly movies.

I really like this style of content, but almost everyone involved is annoying. The content is edgy enough on its own, the annoying voices, weird characters, etc are not needed and do not enhance the experience.

The thing with Nexpo is that he didn't used to do this shit but he has been so easily influenced by MamaMax (who is pretty much a lolcow at this point) that he thought a glitchy voice and ripping off Hotline Miami would be cool.

I keep hearing about how messed up it is, and yeah dementia's some fucked up shit, but I'm not listening to the whole fucking album to get the full experience. Can someone give me the Pitchfork version of what I'm supposed to be getting from this?

Compare one his earlier videos to anything since he started asking his fans if changing his channel name would be a good idea.

His voice changed to be similar to most Troons or proto-troons of the Twitteroid subspecies. Probably due to the influence of MamaMax.

Only Troons and closetfags would think that going from a semi-professional quality scary story teller "Nightmare expo" to a something generic, basic, and sterilized like "Nexpo" was a good idea along with these fucking "top 10 slenderman game features. number 10, WALKING" -tier documentaries with a new voice style similar to the burger king foot lettuce meme mixed with a faggot.

Hes far from the worst documentary youtuber, but he literally has been ver batim reading reddit shitposts like theyre actually true stories for the past year compared to his older interesting content. Anyone can make a sockpuppet on Reddit and then "Disappear" ooooh 2spooky5me.

While I do like DTFATI, I wish he would go back to doing his normal voice instead of a voice that makes him sound like an edgy high schooler who listened to way too much My Chemical Romance.

Stage 2: Slightly distorted old songs but in a depressive tone. (You realise something is wrong and try to hold onto your memories.)
Stage 3: Songs get even more distorted and repeat themselfs more often. (The last coherent memories you have.)
Stage 4: Songs mix into each other and get barely recognisable. (Living in confusion because you can't recall anything.)
Stage 5: Songs are now completely unrecognisable. (No such thing as past and future. You only live in the moment.)
Stage 6: Just a droning noise until the last 5 minutes of music and last 1 minute of silence. (I think I don't need to say that one...)

Yeah nexpo would be pretty good without the voice crap. He does a lot of investigation into some of the topics.

For me I've never thought about Nexpo's voice changing, but I pretty much shut off any of his videos the moment he shows his face or does a live action skit about the subject.

I dunno if it started with the Ben Drowned video, but thats the one that stuck with me as the turning point. I passively listen to music or videos while I play games or work, so longform video essays are the perfect thing to listen to. I remember I was going through nexpos library while playing minecraft, and when it got to Ben Drowned, a couple minutes in I realized I was listening to some irl creepypasta larp wankery and shut it off.

A story channel I occasionally listen to sometimes uploads animations and they're so, uh, bad. I don't wanna be too hard on the guy who does them because I at least like the cheesy cryptkeeper style intro/outro, but man watching these PS2 models shift from one stock animation into another is the furthest from horror you can get.
