The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Sonyponies feeling what Nintendofags felt when Nintendo remastered Link awakening 2 times (granted the first one came with a extra mini dungeon and color graphics and the second was a complete overhaul) still, no one want another last of us after 2, its done sony give up, kill it like you killed Killzone and Twisted Metal

So 48% essentially say "I couldn't care less/no I don't want it," 26% are on the fence, and another 26% want it.

To put it another way, 74% either don't want it or are ambivalent at best, and 26% say "yeah do it." Naturally Sony/Druckmann/Paid shills fanboys will pretend that 26% is an overwhelming majority and say "yeah everyone wanted it and anyone who says otherwise is a chud."

I find it funny how Sony are getting rid of their japanese development studios (despite those being responsible partially for good console sales even if some didn't sell super well...usually due to awful marketing), but think boring cinematic borderline torture porn games are the way of the future and are putting all their eggs in that basket.

I for one AIN'T getting a PS5 ever at this rate then, there is no point.

At least the Switch version came out two decades after the Link's Awakening DX. There was breathing room and multiple video game generations between both releases.

Well first off, God of War Horizon, Ghosts of Tsushima, Spiderman, and Ratchet and Clank all play very differently. It's like saying mario, Kirby, metroid, and Donkey kong Country all are the same game. They're part of the same genre, but they're no carbon copies of each other.

Neil Druckman is VP of Naughty Dog and his reach doesn't extend past that. Nobody really shares his vision for games across the board, he's very much a minority.

Thirdly they only got rid of Japan Studio, took a core team to reform it around VR and the people who left have already founded external development studios.

Gravity Rush was given an Anime OAV and a huge marketing budget to promote it's sequel, nobody bought the game. Meanwhile GOW 2018 and Horizon didn't have any of that and they broke the combined GR series sales records in every market.

It's not like they never gave them a chance.

Mind you internally, they consider games like Ratchet and Clank and Gravity Rush part of their third person style game genre that they wish to promote. It's a very broad brush. They've also had success in taking IPs and giving them to other developers to make games for and it's worked out well. So you don't nesscierily need Japan Studio to make another installment.

Gravity Rush's open world level design many studios can already match, Insomniac's Spiderman actually does many things that gravity Rush did. The combat needed work in both GR games and it was far from perfect. The main defining thing was the camera would always right itself wherever Kat was standing.

So where was the huge marketing budget then? The Anime OAV wouldn't have cost much.

Unfortunately I suspect a lot of the people saying they wouldn't be interested will soyface and do the "TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY!!!" routine as soon as they reveal a trailer. Consoomers have no willpower or spine whatsoever.

Although, I could see them bundling it and the TLOU2 PS5 version/TLOU2 multiplayer together and selling it as a "Last of Us Collection" or something. It'd certainly make more sense than selling a re-remake with only slightly better graphics for fucking $70.

Nah, for once the Sony ponies are "lol i can just get a copy of TLOU 1 for PS4 and run it on my PS5", really there is ABSOLUTELY nothing gained by a remaster of TLOU to the point that people that cared about the first before the second don't want it to happen because Sony is going to rape the franchise three ways to hell

Sony is becoming the Ocean/LJN of the new age

Actually it's sounding like this might not be a full priced title, it's looking closer to a budget title that would also come with a PS5 Bundle. The Entry price point will more than likely be low.

They're looking to move systems with this because this isn't going to be the first property like this. They want to have their TV audience buy a PS5 so they'll be invested and buy GOW Ragnarok and Horizon's sequels when they come out.

The one thing that may wind up happening is TLOU joins the ranks of Zelda, castlevania, and mario by having an awful second game but redeems itself by the third.

here you want to know how they can unfuck two, magical fucking fungus. Yeah abbey beat joel's head in but they never really explained the rules of what made Ellie immune to be that exact. Because Joel got exposed to the GOOD FUNGUS he got Wolverine healing powers after the bad fungus tried to decay his body. Make it be that the fungus needs to be close to it's source which would be Ellie, and not only can you explain co-op game mechanics, but story mechanics as well. if Joel Strays too far from Ellie and gets hurt he's dead for good.

That doesn't mean it was that expensive either...

Again no actual facts just assumptions.
Gravity rush is in better terms like Metroid, it has its fans but doesnt pull gorillion numbers like Sony want ergo is shit, before Sony went full happy merchant they actually cared about that IP ,now? less than 1 million copies is a cataclysmic disaster and now that they shoah the studio don't expect to see it ever again

Nothing animated is cheap unless it's coming directly from canada China
Fixed that for you

I have see the same question form the Sonyponies on twitter "why should i bother playing a third remake?", they even propose to release the first game on Steam like Horizon zero dawn

Gravity Rush's art style was also a major part of it's popularity.

But considering all the anime rights they've bought up, it's not the only anime looking thing that they're ever going to generate in house.

I mean when they have the rights to Re:Zero, Zombie Land Saga, So What? I'm a Spider, Uzaki Chan and a fuckload of others. it gets hard to justify keeping an IP around that only did average to below average.

The kadokawa deal also means they're going to make original IPs as well.

They made a alliance with Kadokawa aka the ones with all the big hits on japan so every time you see anything popular 8/10 is from one of the companies of Kadokawa with them plus Funimation and Crunchyroll under their name they are the Disney of Anime

Wow that really showed me.

An anime episode usually costs around $250000 in USD. Those shorts were around that length, so I am going to estimate it cost less than $1million.

Then again you are the resident sonypony so I can't really take what you say all that seriously, even if you do pretend to be on the side of those angry at Sony.
