Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Hospitals will treat people, and send them a HUGE bill. Why the youth of today don't know that they can go to the hospital's financial office and ask for help I do not know. Most of the time if the patient is actually poor as fuck they can get the entire bill written off, or at least set up a payment plan.

Lots of poor people misusing the hospital for every ache and pain then not paying the bill might be contributing to the high costs, since hospitals might be making up the loss by charging more.

America's poor have access to health care. Some of them aren't savvy enough to know how to get it, but anyone giving a sob story about being near death but too poor to get care like a character in a Dickens novel are usually being dramatic.(Or they have a GoFundMe they're trying to promote.)
Tinfoil Hat Answer: Propaganda.
Hospitals, insurance and pharma companies can make more money off people who don't know that there are ways to pay less. Also certain political entities (D) can use the issue to push for more gibsmedats (and thus more votes).
There is a net benefit for a lot of organizations not to make it more widely known how easy it is to reduce the price tag of your hospital bill.

Realistic Answer: People are stupid and lazy.
When I was in college I actually had people tell me that keeping my scholarship was a "waste of time" because I "could always just take out loans" like everybody else. That they would rather go into debt than just fucking studying harder and finding creative ways of keeping their GPA afloat speaks volumes about the mentality of late millennials.
I would reckon its easier to cry on FB & Twatter about why big daddy government needs to gibs you free healfcare than to actually get on the phone with the hospital's financial department and work out a way to reduce your bill.

See here I am screaming to bring back the American tradition of tarring & feathering tax collectors over an 11% income tax...
Oh, they tax us more than that, 9% sales tax, property tax to the tune of hundreds a months (you're paying it by proxy even if you rent), and we have our share of "oi, u gotta hav a loicense m8". Property tax is usually the big hidden one. "Oh why are rents so high!" Because property tax costs more than a fucking mortgage lmao

Why are we arguing about Canadian gibsmedat medical bullshit in the corona mega thread?

None of your points matter on either side. The model of the government providing anything is broken, and soon we'll be able to point to the collapse of the dollar and ensuing collapse to the global economy and explain why it's not a good idea to have "free" shit. How many trillions have they printed this year and it's barely fucking April? I honestly don't remember, but it's fucking high!

Once again the commoners are arguing over the minutiae while the root problems are never addressed. FUCK I hate humanity sometimes. We deserve what's coming, enjoy your lockdowns, masks, and jewish communism forever! Now with free healthcare ;)

<if you are playing doomsperg bingo you might have just won>

I... don't "think" that's how that works? I've never heard of the cold or flu treated like this. I would think they would have done so in elder patients by now since the elderly can literally die of a cold.

I feel like if that helped, then we would be doing that for other non-corona viruses.
Then what is even the point of getting vaccinated if the status quo stays the same? Wasn't the whole point of doing so that this all would end if everybody got the jab?
I don't think I've ever actually heard a politician or scientist say that out loud. It's just assumed that once everyone gets the shot we can go back to normal. Any time I've heard Fauci or Biden/Psaki asked that question, they hem and haw and make generic politics speak. I've never once heard anyone of importance say COVID is "over" once the vaccine is given to everyone.

And exactly like predicting heat in summer and the Sun rising in the East...

You haven't heard of the variants? They're super dangerous. Unlike regular COVID, which is just normal dangerous. If you get the vaccine your immunity is only up to level 1. You'll need to wait for the different variant vaccines to level up your SCIENCE and immunity.

The rat fuck doesn't deserve it, but I'll play devil's advocate here. I can somewhat understand the desire for a continued abundance of caution, especially from a geriatric old fart like Fauci. The coof still exists, people can still get fucked by it, and the "vaccines" don't actually confer sterilizing immunity (why we're still calling them vaccines is beyond me). Due to these facts, the logical approach is to avoid unnecessary contact when possible to reduce the chances of transmission from random people you don't know.

However, it's been over a year of this shit now, and people are increasingly fed up with being told they shouldn't do what they want, or in blue cities/states, actually can't without incurring some form of penalty. To be told that they have to continue to forgo any sort of social experience indefinitely simply won't fly with most, especially after getting jabbed. And the propaganda of how the coof is still totally sooper cereal can't last forever; eventually, all but the most brainwashed bootlickers will realize that they probably don't actually know anyone who died, or got all that sick for that matter.

Life is all about managing risks. Most people look at the coof, realize it's a nothingburger, and move on with their lives, the same way people have been dealing with colds or the flu forever. If you honestly believe you're gonna die if you step one foot outside of your bubble, then be a shut-in for the rest of your life, I don't care. But don't go around shaming everyone else for wanting to return to normal just because you honestly believe that "if only we'd locked down harder" and "true lockdowns have never been tried."

And that's without getting into all the health benefits of getting out and socializing, but I think that's good enough for now.

I am getting fed up with this vaccine passport policies, they are eugenics. PERIOD

What is all this talk about it being a good idea to keep out the "undesirables"? What's China's business on proposing a global vaccine passport to the WHO after they tied their vaccine passport to the social credit score? FUCK OFF!!!
It has every check of why eugenics are abhorrent.
  • Wearing a skin suit called "in the name of public health".
  • It is being tied to a subjective score. Social credit is the new IQ to which practice eugenics.
  • You are continuing to single out disabled people, moving this goal post is going to end on considering a better "undesirable" human? What the fuck is science becoming at this point?
  • These people's concern are discrimination against illegal immigrants and criminals escaping the law is dumber than a fucking brick. Not even thinking about it being applied eugenics.
I would have to disagree with the people about the vaccines not being safe and ineffective, but I'm drawing the line with these eugenics shit. People who want to force people to get the vaccine deserve to die from COVID-19 and burn in Hell.

You know, I was just thinking that MICHIGAN was being way too lenient. Time to shut it down again.

No comment as to why all of these hard lockdown places have to keep locking down, but Texas, Florida, et cetera are fine now.

I hope the lefty commie states go fucking nuts and try a "real" lockdown this time. Let the people learn that voting has consequences, and they are now trapped in states were votes don't even matter. Just make sure none of those libtarded fucks flee their shitholes. Like a dog who just shit on the floor, they need their nose rubbed in it to learn the lesson.

Totally not bitter D;

I don't think so, unless all the countries doing studies on their "variants" are fully making up their data. As far as I can tell, even the AZ vaccine does not make things worse in any statistically significant way.

I hope states like Arizona, Utah, and Idaho will "help out" on guarding the state borders (so we can all be safe :heart-full: )
