People he's just met are going to have a way harder time putting up with all the clutter he brings with him from the main house. Can't wait for that giant transformer to become the earthships "statement" piece in the living area. I want a MTV cribs style house tour, please give us that much.
“Hi! I’m ananda Lewis and on this episode of MTV cribs we are donning mopps gear and a battlemech to go into the fabulous grift that is the TROON RANCH! This haven for men err women err Soviet era “women Olympic weightlifters” was built for the Luxurious living style of being a man with no penis! Boasting over 1kwh of up to date soviet surplus solar, a well poisoned by a rotted corpse of an alpaca, and over 200 THOUSAND toys, these guys err girls (fuck whatever) take their security seriously- high tech fence keeps the lookie loos at bay and the earls shitting themselves in terror! A truly eco friendly haven that reflects the barren, lonely, and pathetic lives of its inhabitants next on MTV cribs, woken Colorado edition!”

There was show in 2007 called Kid Nation where they took 40 literal children, oldest was 15 and youngest was 8, and dumped in the middle of the desert. They of course had some direction from adults, but not as much as you would have expected and included moral questions to the children like "should you murder chickens to survive?"

These 40 children created a more functional living environment than the troons.

Well yes and no. Apparently they thought an inspection had been done (they must have realised when no inspection report came to them?)

This is such absolute horseshit, I can't. In both my state and theirs, the homeowner's inspection is the buyer's responsibility - IOW, the buyer has to not only find but also pay for the inspection, after which they get a detailed report (usually through email these days) giving them the rundown. The buyer is typically expected to be present at the inspection so they can ask questions and be informed and involved in the process. There is literally no way they "thought an inspection had been done" but had no idea until they bought the place that it hadn't been.

The only options I'd buy for what actually happened are that either a) they were too stupid and lazy to get an inspection and went ahead with the purchase without one but wanted to play the victim for social media when that decision didn't turn out too well, or b) the seller told them "oh yeah I had a guy out to look at the system a little while back and he said it was all good" and they just believed him and figured that's what everyone meant about an "inspection" because, again, they're stupid.

ETA: Apparently I missed option c) the seller got the unlicensed (I can only hope) electrician who wired it up to come vouch for it and they went "WELP that means everything is fine!" because... you guessed it... they're dumber than a box of hair.

If they'd paid a guy to do a homeowner's inspection and the guy had taken their money (and it's usually a sizable fee, too, it was a few hundred in my state and I imagine you'd pay more if they needed to go out to a rural area) and then failed to do any kind of inspection at all, they'd be hollering from rooftops about the "evil transphobic thief" who stole their grift bucks.

The guy who inspected it for them was the same guy who installed it. He couldn't see anything wrong.

I want to know how much they paid that guy to lie to their faces lmao. Also, did they not even google what a home inspection entails? It's not just about the electrical. But also, you'd think they'd take action if there was an electrician pulling that crap.

On a sidenote, that laptop is hilariously cheapshit. I love how it somehow already looks grubby af just by virtue of being in the hoarder house for ten minutes.

>tenkeyless
>no dedicated page up/down
>glossy screen
>all that wasted space just for the trackpad
>no visible LED indicator for caps lock

Never gonna make it.
nOBODY REALLY NEEDS AN INDICATOR FOR CAPSLOCK. eVERYONE KNOWS WHEN THEY HAVE IT PRESSED. tHERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH pAUL'S KEYBOARD.

Best part about them suffering an electrical fire due to an overloaded grid is their source of water relies on an electric pump. Not that water would be great on an electrical fire unless they could isolate it. I'm betting the fire originates in those poorly maintained wetcell batteries.

Let's look at the safety sheet from the manufacturer.

Yup explosive (and will fuck the aquatic environment if punctured good start.

Flammable gas generated during charging and operation, so on their system all the time.

Cool, dry, well ventilated. I don't know if any of these apply to their basement.

So LEL of 4.1% and UEL of 74.2%, forget fire they're going to move the tranch to the moon if they aren't careful with their massive aging battery bank.

Look at the state of the wiring

They claim it was missed in the survey but how? How could anyone miss this shit? No way is any of this up to code.

They better start thinking of getting/maintaining extinguishers (CO2 for electrical) or its going to go wrong.
Holy shit those wires in a DC system are a no no. If the tranch burns down some day, my guess is on a DC arc fault. Even their currently non-working system can cause a fire.

Smaller solar system:

There is a third option. Boone's mom is part owner. Maybe she got the inspection report, went, 'Like those idiots are going to last more than a month out there anyways. What does it matter if it's a disaster waiting to happen?'. She then told them all the inspection was done and everything was peachy. Anything to get Boone to leave her alone.

So there really was an undercover agent saboteur at the ranch - it was Mother Boone all the time!

How does their electrical stuff work, anyway? They have battery storage and a generator, I guess. The battery supplies DC power, but that gaming rig and all the other normal appliances require AC, don't they? Are they running an inverter or something, or how do they do it?
Generally interested in this, actually.
They just run cheap Chinese generators in to the ground and when they die they order another off amazon. The solar plant is a joke if it works at all and the wind controller burned up.

Dirty, grifting fuckers. What a load of overpriced, poor quality product.

First of all, what the fuck is up with these product photos. All of them have this weird fucking blur on them. If I'm buying yarn I want to see the god damn fibres. As pointed out already, some of the skeins have visible dog/cat fur on them which is just gross. If I'm buying bespoke yarn on etsy, I want it to come from a smoke free environment with preferably no pets being near the product.
View attachment 2054224
They can't even skein it nicely. Additionally they've named a whole bunch of their yarn "colours" which is fine I guess but what they really are are undyed skeins. That means there's going to be some variation between them. Just call them fucking natural or undyed.

View attachment 2054225

Now onto the dye. Holy fuck what the ever loving God is this low effort shit. Let alone the fact this is absolutely hideous, they also clearly don't have a fucking clue what they're doing. It's inconsistent and barely noticeable.

View attachment 2054227

I think they were going for having one part of the yarn dyed whilst the other part is natural. A lot of dyers will have a base colour with an accent streak like follows:
View attachment 2054247

If you want your colours to come through, you want to be working with a light coloured yarn. It also looks like they've just painted a weak acid dye on part of it and called it a day rather than dyeing in a bath or leave it for enough time for the dye to take. It looks like they've splatted the dye on (not saturating the yarn properly) didn't leave it for long and then when they washed the yarn, all the dye came out. I've only dyed a couple of times but even my attempts were better than this. And it's overpriced to hell.

Oh yeah, can't wait to knit with... swamp water. Beautiful! I hope they do an amhole orange next.

So here is their undyed milk chocolate yarn.

View attachment 2054229

Or for just a couple of dollars more, I can get three times as much yarn which is consistently spun, a nicer looking colour and much higher quality.

Just lazy, shoddy work.
lol britfag

In all seriousness, I'm amazed they haven't managed to destroy the state of Colorado yet.

Yeah, I remember that. Three kids drank bleach and a girl burned herself trying to scrub hot grease off a frying pan. Remarkably, that was about all the fail that happened. The setting was an old movie set used decades ago for filming Westerns. No electricity or running water/sewer, IIRC. So, 40 "neurotypical" suburban kids plunked onto an old movie set in the New Mexico desert, no amenities, and basically they could do pretty much whatever they wanted. The producers wanted to see if it would turn into Lord Of The Flies, but it didn't. It did piss off the locals to the extent that plans for a sequel were yanked.

The setting was an old movie set used decades ago for filming Westerns.
So literally they dumped a bunch of children into the exact living situation as the Manson Family had.

And needless to say, if it does burn down thanks to the idiocy of these utterly useless troons, they'll blame Earl.

@Hackallier, I'm an old hollow state electronics (vacuum tube radios) geek and in the days before circuit boards arcing was a huge concern. I have a 1937 Emerson that uses insulation on literally every single wire so the radio wouldn't blow the owner's house up. The point is that high voltage wires all jumbled together like that will eventually arc and burn.

Also, they're using lead acid batteries for their bank which is moronic as fuck because wet cell batteries don't go well with the continuous power draws in DC off grid setups. It looks as if the batteries are all on top of each other too, which drastically increases likelihood of arcing.

I'm reminded of that old "singing sword" Bugs Bunny cartoon where at the end Bugs locks The Black Knight (Yosemite Sam) and his sneezing dragon in a castle turret filled with explosives, and as Sam begs the dragon not to sneeze or "you'll blow us to the moon!" the dragon does anyway and the turret launches like an Apollo rocket and heads for orbit.

After the Tranch blows they'll be picking up body parts (troons and alpacas) and pieces of Troonerdome for years. Fuck, people in fucking Amarillo might get Troon Heaven junk raining down on them. (True story: during the 1906 SF quake/fire shit from the cataclysm came down in San Rafael.)

I do hope Paul got the 375$ model and not some sooper souped up laptop just so I don't lose my mind. Actually, the more I look, the more I worry that the darn thing's gonna break thanks to the multitude of animals, people, and carelessness the house shows. I'd strap some styrafoam to that thing if I was him.

Also, tasteful crackpipe weedpipe in the foreground.

new fridge. add the fridge to the list of things they have bought lol
