That's why I said "call me a doomer". I fully believe the system doesn't work nowadays and juror intimidation will be outwardly punished, if only lightly, but tacitly allowed and encouraged (if you do it for the "right" reasons).
Having watched every minute of the trial I can say that it really doesn't seem likely.
I don't think it will be jurors intimidating each other, but I agree with the basic statement that the jury is intimidated.

This jury is not sequestored right now. In fact, I think at least one of them lives in Brooklyn Center.

These jurors will get to watch the Daunte Wright "peaceful protests" all weekend. Some living only a stone's throw away.

I think it will be nearly impossible to prove that the jurors weren't at least thinking that "if I vote innocent then the rioters will come after me." The juror's information is already out there. I promise you that at least several Kiwis alone could figure out at least 6 of the jurors if they wanted to; the NYT published a whole lot of details in just one of their articles.

This idea at least makes sense. I think jurors are going to have a hard time keeping out of touch with media and politics this weekend. Some of them deliberately didn't watch anything about the GF protests, and almost all of them are unsympathetic to BLM or the rioters, so how big the chance is that they're actually swayed by whatever happens this weekend is kind of a toss-up.

O2 saturation, you say? Better repost the Floyd machine.

Yep!

If the jurors somehow do manage to stay away from all news media, wouldn’t they just assume all these demonstrations are about the Chauvin trial?
Has the court informed them that they’re unrelated?

One woman (that we know of) has already taken photos inside the courtroom and claimed to be "media."

And then she was "only asked to delete the pictures." They didn't even wipe her phone; THE JUDGE GAVE HER BACK HER PHONE!!!

Someone I guarantee has photos of these jurors ready to go if there is "the wrong verdict."

I agree that she probably has photos of jurors but also if she leaks them she's going to jail for contempt and a guilty verdict will get overturned

No, I'm claiming that if Chauvin is found innocent, then "an anoymous source" will leak these pictures to the appropriate BLM/Antifa people.

Even if the woman gets caught, she will just be a martyr for the cause for having helped expose those racist jurors.

if any leaked photos were taken inside the courthouse, it'll get traced back to her in 30 seconds.

If she's considered a martyr, nobody will care because she hasn't been killed. Media will most likely largely ignore it because it's not that dramatic and if they covered it at any length they wouldn't really be able to get around the fact that she's jailed for leaking juror photos to intimidate them. The idea that Fat Kamala can effectively do anything is silly.
I also guarantee you that as much as being a martyr might appeal to some people, this wealthy snake would not want to be put in jail, and I can't imagine the court being lenient on her, just due to the nature of this hypothetical crime.

I think I am miscommunicating.

It won't matter if she's arrested after the trial and AFTER these jurors have been attacked for finding Chauvin innocent.

I disagree with the idea that she's won't leak pictures to BLM after the trial because she doesn't want to go to prison. We've seen people get caught and released for setting buildings on fire. I'd be stunned if she got anything outside probation, even if one of these jurors gets attacked or their house destroyed.

I've seen Nuremberg with more convincing defenses; manslaughter at least, murder is more than a crap shoot against him.

Walks away with neither charge? Fat fucking chance. If this happens feel free to abuse me.
I see it the other way.

The defense doesn't have to prove innocence in criminal court. The prosecution has to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that Floyd would still be alive if Chauvin didn't kneel on him. And I personally think the prosecution did a terrible job at that.

It would not shock me if the jury found him guilty of manslaughter, but from what I've seen there's zero evidence of murder here. Hell, I don't even think the prosecution determined a definitive cause of death; just a bunch of ways Chauvin COULD have killed him.

Hell, I don't even think the prosecution determined a definitive cause of death; just a bunch of ways Chauvin COULD have killed him.

They actually proved he didn't, since the State alleged with the help of Dr. Potato that Chauvin asphyxiated Floyd via some kind of neck compression or positional asphyxia. The problem is that that Dr. Potato just testified that Floyd was full of oxygen when they measured it at the hospital, where he was also, according to the State, still alive. How could Chauvin smother Floyd at the hospital? Their entire theory of death is contradicted by their own experts.

The only remaining cause of death is some kind of heart problem brought on by drugs and clogged arteries, neither of which can be attributed to Chauvin.

Chauvin doesn't "beat" any of the charges. In fact, he has to go through the entire process again. The charges aren't dropped in a mistrial.
I've heard from a couple sources that this isn't always the case, that if mistrial occurs as a result of some intentional act by the prosecution then double-jeopardy applies and the case cannot be retried. BIG IF TRUE
