Yeah the Cuyahoga River did, more than once. The river catching fire was supposedly the real reason why Nixon forced the EPA into existence. But with all things in federal politics it got ruined. Even the Ohio EPA is a trash virtue signaling organization.

Out of 4174 shot in chicago last year 14 where shot by cops and only 7 died. I don't remember reading about any of those 7 being unjustified.
How much of a higher standard can you get?

If you get shot in chicago there is 99.7% chance its by a nigger and not a cop. And if you DO get shot by a cop you are likely doing something that brought them to you. Statistically officer involved shootings are nothing.

I personally think it may look similar to Germany before the Weimar Republic formed and took power. Several big cities declared independence from the central government and tried to build little communist enclaves. In Germany, these were beaten down by WW1 veterans forming militias and government forces of the then new Weimar.
One such example, and an interesting read is the Bremen Soviet Republic and the November Revolution in general.

I can see something like this happening in America of today too. With movements like CHOP or whatever it was called already having support from city officials, i dont think its that outrageous to assume entire cities could follow with the right (or rather far-left) politicians in office. (Although this would first require a severe weakening of the federal government.)
Also, what happens after that phase is up in the air. When shit hits the fan that badly (and with our current central bank produced inflation it may) pretty much everything is on the table.
