Regarding the damage done to the land- would laying turf help it recover in any way?
Obviously not whilst there’s hundreds of starving ruminants on it, but for future owners of this land that might not want to live on Arrakis.

Do any of the agriculture spergs here know if the soil could be helped by planting a cover crop, like clover or daikon or cowpeas or something?

I know there isn't enough land to grow enough food for the alpacas to eat, but could they retain/rebuild the topsoil enough to withstand alpaca hooves and be of use in the future? Assuming they were more diligent about rotating where they herd them and used a hay feeder instead of just throwing it on the ground.

(I grew Austrian Winter Peas for green fertilizer and to choke out weeds in a planting strip I was redoing; the rate of growth was remarkable, but I'm in a wetter part of the US.)

Nothing will recover with the 8 alpacas per acre or w/e unsustainable density the troons have.

Now once the Alpacas have been seized by the state animal rights organization and the troons have been jailed or sent back to live with thier horrible parents...
Laying turf, in addition to being expensive, would help. But wouldn't do much for very long unless you were actively watering- that area of Colorado is below "steppe" on the precipitation gauge (I cannot remember the the intermediate between 'steppe' and 'arid'). There is not enough precipitation to run year-round plant growth and the local flora have adapted to that, laid turf would quickly die.

Even if you watered the turf for a few years in the expectation of rebuilding top soil and then slowly "droughting" it back to allow nature to take over, watering the soil would likely make it too moist for the various soil composters to recolonize effectively.

I think your best bet for rehabing the site once it is no longer the tranch glassing from orbit because the troon crotch wound stank is never going away would be covering it with a quickly-degrading corse mulch with a few pockets of native grasses & soil. The woodchips would be too big to blow away, would provide cover to to allow moisture to collect underneath and decomposers to set up, potentially stopping the dustbowl effect. As the wood breaks down, the native grasses would be able to reseed and slowly take over again.

but as was said earlier, even if you did that, you're still looking at probably a decade+ before its back to the state it was before the troons rolled in.

Maybe they can make some dog yarn. They would be breaking new ground by making a hat made of dog yarn. Hell, fuck the alpacas, get a roving hoard of dogs and mass produce those dog hats.

They would probably sell like hot cakes in China, after all who doesn't want to smell (and wear) something that reminds you of your favorite food.
Dog fur yarn is actually a thing. My cousin collected fur from her dog (couple years I think) and made yarn and mittens from that. I think she mixed it with wool, I think it's because her dog's fur is too short to spin alone. I've seen ads for people who do that for you, if you collect enough fur.

This reminds me, I don't remember seeing is it mentioned who makes their yarn? I wonder how much they pay for that, the quality is not very good and the end product looks like second hand, with (animal or human) hairs and hay sticking out. Not to mention they put their gofundme in the labels, like it's not enough you bought this too expensive shitty yarn from them

Penny was also the one tweeting about how the tranch isn't a dating site, right? The quiet tension between Penny and the more useless tranchers is gonna boil over at some point and it's going to be fantastic to watch.

No, that was Bonnie.

Correct. He's in a neck-on-neck race with that Jarrod guy about who's going to freak out first.

This is how you run a llama business in Westcliffe CO. This is what the troons should have done. I know they have alpacas, but you know what I mean.

It's difficult to believe that this Petite Suisse is the same county as the Mad-max desert the tranchers posted.

edit: anyone know what that orange and black thing is in the last photo?
It's Kevin's #9 fully automated self-deploying dilator (imagine a Transformer taking the shape of a dilator), meant to be taken in use late 2020. But alas.

Judging by their criteria for other contractors it will be some troon who has the cheapest equipment and no real idea how to use it.

Too lazy to archive on my phone, but dear lord look at the mess. And no, you troons don’t deserve the dogs. They’re worth infinitely more than you

Holy shit is that an electric storage heater in an off-grid property with a huge propane tank?

They have ... solar powered ... electric heating. (Well they would if the solar worked, instead it's a collection of propane gensets). So if they finally get the solar working again, they will only have a decent amount of electric power when it's sunny, i.e. when they don't need the heaters. Rather than get a propane or oil-fired central heating system they're using fucking electricity to heat the tranch. Their heating goes propane > generator > AC > rectifier/converter > DC > main battery > inverter > AC mains power > another rectifier/converter > DC > another battery in the heater > heat. It's even more stupid than Bonnie's propane-fuelled electric car, at least that charges on DC. Have I missed something or is this really as stupid as it looks?

My head hurts.

EDIT: No it isn't, those are a kind of propane heater I wasn't familiar with. My head feels better now at least.

Hi! My name is Brianna and I am so glad you came by! I have owned and raised llamas since 1995. Over the years I have trained and shown many llamas, earning many champions at both local and regional shows.

We started this business in May 2019 as a fun way to introduce people to llamas and help them to live their dream of hanging out with a llama for a day :). Since we started, I have been blessed to meet many different people and enjoy all the new friends that we make.

Llamas are some of the most gentle, easy going animals and the perfect partner for a hike. They are very quiet, and well mannered. All of our llamas start training at 6 months of age. Spitting is not allowed from the guests or the llamas :)

We strive to make sure you have the trip of your dreams! It is up to you if you would like to go on a long trek/hike or if you want to just walk a short distance and sit and take in the beautiful scenery. We will accommodate your needs. This adventure is suitable for all ages. Please let us know what we can do to make your day great!
Ofc the tranchers didn't do something like that. They are allergic to anything that is wholesome.
Also, working in the tourism industry means that you actually have to like people.
Those troons are filled with murderous rage against them.

So, when everything fails, do they blame the MAGA neighbors or Alt-Right agents from out of state for obviously sneaking in at night and dumping poison on the ground so the grass won't grow?

Because they'll never admit they fucked up
Like all their other failures when they finally realise how fucked they are they'll move somewhere else and the social media accounts will just never mention the tranch again and carry on like it never happened.

Alpacas do, though. Healthy ones. Herds use a communal dung pile, which makes it even EASIER to use the manure for your own land or for profit.
I stand corrected, thank you. It's still a giant pile of shit they've shoveled together from sheep, alpaca, chickens, and dogs and are just leaving outside the house. That's a lot of animals to produce a lot of manure that they don't seem to have any plan for, either using it or disposing of it.

The floor on that house makes my skin crawl. That entire building will be saturated with wet dog smell forever.

Potential new face on the tranch?

Across the country, transgender people held within the prison-industrial complex face a litany of deprivations. Trans people are incarcerated at more than twice the rate of the general population—more than that for trans people of color. For many trans women incarcerated here in Georgia, like myself, the most significant deprivation is that of medical and mental health care.

The fight to make medically necessary treatments available to transgender prisoners in the state has been under way for more than a decade. Many progressive and urgently needed changes have been enacted by Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) officials since around 2013, such as access to hormones, as well as to bras and panties.

Unfortunately, none of those changes were the result of officials’ voluntary action. They were the result of advocacy and persistent litigation by trans prisoners—like Ashley Diamond, a trans advocate and activist against carceral violence, who in 2015 brought suit due to the GDC’s failing to protect her from sexual assault and denying her access to medically supported hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and facial-hair removal.

Years later, despite initial assurances from GDC attorneys and representatives, it is still apparent that the medical needs of trans prisoners are not a priority for corrections officials.

Psychological Torture

In 2021, as the US largely fails to protect its prisoner population from COVID-19, incarcerated trans women are raising their voices even more loudly than before. Denying us access to facial-hair removal and gender-reassignment surgeries such as breast augmentation and vaginoplasty—as well as depriving us of our right to grow hair on our heads by maintaining a “3-inch” policy, with forced head-shaving to compel compliance for those of us attempting to grow our hair longer—obstructs our medically necessary transitions.

The WPATH Standards of Care (along with position statements published by the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care) supports the necessity and urgency of these treatments. GDC officials are aware of these Standards of Care and have been put on notice of the existence of these serious medical needs by trans women.

For many of us, the cost of not being able to further our transition and have our medical needs met is psychologically torturous.

“The biggest issue we face is the trauma of forced de-transition and de-feminization, such as with facial hair,” Ashley Parker, a 36-year-old trans woman in Georgia’s Valdosta State Prison, wrote to Filter. “We can’t shave like we would like to since the GDC has taken the razors out of the system. So we walk around all the time half-shaved or with a 5-o’clock shadow because we can’t keep ourselves groomed properly to look like the women we are.”

“This is important to us, as this seriously affects our mental health and stability,” she added. “Everyday is anguish for me.”

For Jazzmine Sellers, a 51-year-old trans woman in Georgia’s Central State Prison, being deprived of transition-related care is an existential issue.

“On a day-to-day basis, I’m trying to fulfill my Truth and look on the outside like the woman that I know I am. And it’s hard to do that when the GDC won’t allow me to receive the medically necessary treatments I need,” Sellers wrote to Filter. “I’m not able to shave everyday, but the very act of even having to shave everyday just causes me to get more depressed. I often feel depressed because I can’t face another day with this hair on my face. I feel like I can’t continue my transition properly the way I know I should. I feel like I can’t live in this male body and facial hair is certainly one of the most painful parts about being in this body.”

“That’s not who I am, this is not who I am,” she continued. “Not being able to fully be the woman I know I am, well, I feel like I’m living a lie and what’s the point of living like that.”

Some incarcerated trans women have been pushed to the brink of death. Prison officials continue to abdicate their duty to provide medical care to those they cage, utilizing paper-thin excuses like “penological interest” and “classification criteria.”

As a trans woman incarcerated in Georgia, I know this firsthand. I used to be very suicidal. I would think about it all the time. I was so deeply depressed, I couldn’t see life as worth livingstuck in this body while petty bureaucrats at the GDC wrongfully refused me care for my gender dysphoria.

At one point, I just snapped. I tried to castrate myself. In that frame of time, I literally just could not stand another moment of life with these genitalia. I nearly died. I was placed in a crisis unit for almost two months. The whole time I was there, I just wanted to die.

Prison officials just don’t understand this. Transitioning isn’t a want for me; it’s a need. I need to have a sex change. I need to have my facial hair removed. I need to be able to grow out my hair as a woman. I need this so as to not be constantly at war within myself. I need this to live, really live.

Sometimes, when it’s all just too much, it feels like I can barely breathe. The pain of the experience is crippling. I literally live everyday begging these officials to let me out of this body, rather than out of this prison. But no, my prison is two-fold and so is my sentence—this facility and this body.

Why do correctional officials persevere in their patent refusal to provide medical care? Why are they permitted to continue in this illegal practice?

GDC officials seem to think they can simply ignore the medical needs of trans prisoners, perhaps certain that the “problem”—us—will simply go away.

“We’re not a problem and our medical care isn’t a fleeting nuisance,” Sellers wrote. “We’re here and so are our needs. Neither is going away.”

Have we had anything really interestingly fucked up emerge from this yet? Any of the troons fucking/being fucked by the various farm animals or something similarly depraved?

Development from the Kev thread. Wedge is at the tranch. He would be the new trailer in the ghetto village out in their yard.
I haven't been keeping up with that thread, who the fuck is Wedge?

So, a shemale prison whore wants to camp out at the tranch now? Is there something about Alpacas that just attracts troons for some reason? I ask because the last project like this crashed and burned pretty hard, and while this one obviously will too, it seems to have a bit more longevity for some reason.

Nah, that's a Monitor-type heater. Runs on propane.
Ah. We don't have those things where I live. I had my doubts, only because I can't see the Troons installing any kind of heaters given how lazy and incompetent they are, and the previous owners can't have installed such an insane system to work off solar.
