In a better world, the lessons to be learned from Floyd would be;
1. Don’t do illegal drugs
2. If you have illegal drugs, don’t attract attention by committing another crime
3. If caught with illegal drugs, do not ingest all of them in a vain attempt to hide them
4. If the police arrive, comply unless you’re prepared to kill and die.
But these are very simple lessons too difficult for the average asshole to comprehend.

dont fight the cops
dont run from the cops
dont argue with the cops
dont talk to the cops

thats all the advice anybody needs when it comes to handling police encounters. do what you're told, identify yourself, keep your mouth shut, dont answer questions without consulting your lawyer first.

leftists and the nogs consider the police an unwelcome occupying force so they refuse to do that.

It also bears mentioning; cops should not be your friendly neighborhood buddy. I’m sick of people complaining about police brutality and pining over Andy Griffith types. Cops main job, besides writing traffic tickets and catching you in bullshit, is to respond to violent emergencies. They have to act the way they do because if they don’t respond appropriately, they risk escalating a violent situation. This is why you shut up, don’t resist, and hold out for a lawyer.

funny because if you were to live in a warzone under enemy occupation, these rules are also how you stay alive and well during interactions with occupying troops (minus the "i want a lawyer" part, that wont work lol)

if you act like a jerk to enemy soldiers, they'll treat you as a resister or partisan and put you in a fucking prison camp indefinitely lol

And to add, it's gotten to the point where a lot of those traffic tickets and bullshit catching turns into shootouts in a split second.

Even if he did, if his use of force was justified under the circumstances, he still isn't guilty. I don't think it was, frankly, at least not the last few minutes of it.
I feel that the prosecution, ironically, made the case for why it was justifiable. Namely, the crowd being openly aggressive and hostile meaning he had no real options to stop.

That crowd, more than anything else, provides reasonable doubt on everything. He can't spend the time to detain Floyd in a less aggressive form, because he has to keep an eye on the crowd as the senior officer there. He can't delegate it to one of the younger officers, because each was either doing something important or needed for scene security. Then Floyd begins flatlining, he upgrades the call, and now scene security is even more important and he has even less options.

You should want your local constabulary to be your friendly neighborhood buddies because then they take your drugs and let you go home when they pull you over at 3am and you've got a blunt smoldering in the ashtray. Or they don't take your drugs and let you go home when they pull you over at 3am and you've got a blunt smoldering in the ashtray.

That’s the smart way to do it.
But smart people don’t get so high that they do banana dances and eat their stash after trying to pass counterfeit currency.
As long as stupid morons do stupid things there are still going to be shitty outcomes.
One of my concerns with BLM amping up the bullshit rhetoric and paranoia is that it makes dumb people panicky and more likely to resist arrest. And that in turn will lead to more police-involved deaths.
But hey, it’s pretty typical for a Marxist org to be happy to sacrifice pawns so it’s politburo can build a portfolio of dachas on the Black Sea. Metaphorically speaking.

My city is already bracing for impact. Some businesses are boarding up just in case. National Guard may come through some neighborhoods.

The best part is that clergy will be offered for healing.

Raheem looted all the nikes that I wanted! Deez shoes ain't even my size and he won't trade! :'(

Anyway, not looking forward to the aftermath here if Chauvin is not guilty. It's sad that I have to be more concerned about my neighborhood being trashed than justice. But that's the way it is in some areas. We have places that just opened back up from last year's riotpalooza and places that are permanantly shuttered because they were hit so bad and the owners couldn't recover.

However, I think whatever the verdict there will be unrest of varying degrees.

And as Chris Rock said: "Obey the law. You know when someone says I wouldn't do that shit if I was you? Well, this is some of that shit."

Amazingly, if you do that, you will spend much less time looking down the business end of a cop. I've only once had an interaction with a cop that was not my own damn fault (mistaken identity).
