To consider, this would be the equivalent if Trump had missed Abe's meeting, and Pence had to fill in instead- while I don't think Japan would consider it a diplomatic slight (since everyone knows that Biden is well past his prime), no doubt there are diplomatic contingencies being written up right now in case he croaks.

I'm not sure where the 11k number comes from, tho maybe my ratio was off(though I swear I've seen that number mentioned before). If the house didn't get capped 100 years ago it would have 1500ish based on the last census. I don't ever expect the EC to go away, but it could make things interesting with 1500 reps where states you never go to or were solid locks now become battleground states cause of the change in what each states Electoral Count is.

The japanese seemed to genuinely like Trump when I visited Japan while he was in office for his first term, and Japan right now should be our closest ally.
