i was asking because I wasn’t sure if Full Bleed Studios was it’s own thing or a part of Image. But since Dale owns Pitt, an All Caps comic featuring him would be huge. that’s at least a 500k campaign.

Much like Doug TenNaple, Keown has a name and a known property from the 90's. He should be able to do 500K without GomicsGay. Keown is a huge name. Arguably bigger than pre-CG Ethan Van Sciver.

For joining CG to be worth it (there are definite downsides) Keown needs to do much better than 500K.

But Keown was one of the worst "lazy artists" of the Image era. His work was incredible until the checks started to roll in and then he disappeared to play with his rock band or something for years at a time.

Ethan had better hope Dale has grown up or he could have a high six figure Cridious on his hands.

That said, Dale did manage to produce a whopping ten Pitt cat spankers between 93 and 99 so his production schedule matches well with the CG model of putting out 48 pages every 2-3years.

Non-profit foundations are an amazing grift opportunity. They're tax-exempt for the most part and the financial reporting requirements are minimal. The filing deadlines are such that if you're even able to find their latest Form 990 it'll be at least a year out of date. A "current" Form 990 for a non-profit right now would be for tax year 2019. With a non-profit you can put all your friends/family on the payroll and put your houses and property in it's name. There's hardly any enforcement either, basically the Wild West.

Wandering off-topic but that's why every pro athlete has a "charitable" non-profit foundation, they're ideal for grift. First, all the family and circle of hangers-on can get put on a pyaroll with a fat salary. The league hypes up you and your "charity" to boost their own image. The athlete spends an hour a year at a school or some shit being filmed "giving back to the community" and that's all they have to do. Every one of these athlete's "Foundations" will hold an annual fund-raising golf tournament benefit (or fishing tourny, etc) where all the athletes fly around going to each other's "charity" events during the offseason, paid for by the Foundation (and tax-free write-offs for every dollar spent on the trip) - so its free vacation and travel for all of them. Local corporate execs and businesses donate tons of corp cash so they can rub elbows with the athletes/celebs and get their own positive press. It's the perfect scam for all involved. Look into any of them and you'll see that's how 90 cents of every dollar raised goes to "administrative costs" instead of the cause being touted.

P.S. if I read about the new All Caps "Frog Foundation for Autistic Spergs" in the coming weeks I expect a cut. Hell, I'll run it for you.

Today in Comicsgate

Frog no-showed for his scheduled showdown with Dan Shahin on account of 3PM being too early for the CG leader to wake up for, Shahin pivoting to going through various underground/Fantagraphics comics of varying quality while the Comicsgate unwashed hurled crudely spelled jeers at him from the chat. After this was the second half, a Q&A period where Shahin fielded questions the chat, which consisted mostly of Sketch Therapy asking about if Dan Shahin will even try to deny that the "DNC racists were the ones running sterilization programs on puerto ricans and that the demokkrats were the real racists who lost the civil war" as well as questions asking when Sketch can go on the channel to represent Comicsgate in Frog's stead. Shahin, a libertarian Palestinian, was a bit confused on why he was being called upon to defend the democrat party against white supremacy but Sketch will always be himself.

The fallout from the SlickJimmy party vanning is still ringing, with Marc Lombardi and the rest of the Renfamous set leading the charge with "comicsgate has a pedophile in it". Slightly more substantial attempts to draw links between Comicsgate and "Slick Jimmy" Adams were posted by the WC-aligned "Comicsgate Posting Their Ls" account who are determined to not let Comicsgate as a collective to distance themselves from their former comrade.

By far the most entertaining piece of material posted on their part was the reveal that SlickJimmy was an ardent LUG appreciator back when ThatUmbrellaGuy was running a youtube show starring her, leading to this memorable moment where Jimmy confesses his deepset love of Elizabeth to Lola/FUG and how much of a fan he was of all the content of her that TUG provided:

Finally Frog, after finally waking up, had a fairly casual and sedate closeout stream for Trent Kaniuga's CREED: Re-IMAGINARY, raising $10,000 and becoming the first CG project launched in 2021 to reach six figures in funding. This at least answers a few questions, namely Frog's ability to sell comics he's not directly involved in writing or drawing. Snowman is at $92,225 as of this writing so there's good odds that Frog will have his name on both the first and second projects to hit six figures in 2021. Other than sales total that it was fairly uneventful except for the reveal that the mystery big name artist declaring Comicsgate or the ALL CAPS banner (depending on your definition) is Dale Keown, creator of Image Comics title Pitt as well as a legendary Incredible Hulk artist.

Interestingly enough this is yet another Image adjacent guy with connections to Rob Liefeld and Marc Silvestri.

Considering he is a great artist who is too bored to draw comicbooks, he sure fits right in with CG

He's drawn comics though. Allot of them. To be sure he's not just jobbing but only making what he wants. But that's as much the tragedy of the speculator industry making a bunch of guys wealthier than they deserved as anything else.

Simping Zach made a cringe video about Eddy Brubaker.

Unlike Simple Zach, I'm not going to assume everyone here know everything about every comic ever. Ed Brubaker is one of the proto SJWs from the early wave that invaded comics in the 00's. He got put on the Batman books after Hama's aborted run and joined Rucka in turning every character he could into a lesbian and replacing straight, white male characters like Bullock and Gordon with diverse replacements that had the personality of a plank of wood.

Sales slumped until Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee took over.

Despite this, his work at Wildstorm was a hit (Sleeper) and Marvel scooped him up. He wrote politically charged comics, the worst of which were his Captain America books.

He guest starred on Kevin Smith's podcast and revealed that as the 'creator' of Winter Soldier he shouldn't worry about feeding his family. He's upset because Bucky Barnes (a character he didn't create) doesn't see him getting money more than a decade later for one time comic work he did and was paid for. Because movies and television thatmaybe, sortof took one or two things from his run on the characters he didn't create and was paid for were sucessful, he wasn't involved in these projects, he feels sick.

Simple Zach uses the opportunity to talk about how Brubaker and his peers defend Marvel who they say did this to him while attacking Simple Zach.

The real issue here is, what's stopping Ed from making money? He's so great, isn't he? He 'created' Winter Soldier, right? (He didn't). Go make comics that people actually want to read.

He had that new stream going in minutes before I even finished resizing the screencap for my post laughing about it. I just thought it was funny that Flossy's video got the first taken down considering how much exposure Frog is responsible for sending his way. How many ppl in Frogs audience had heard of Flynt Flossy before being showcased there? I even bought his book! Used copy on eBay of course, but still...

This needs a clarification as the stigma toward Americans who didn't "walk the walk" in Japan to earned the right be called a mangaka and have their work be called manga.

So if you're looking to work and you're not from Asia; Manga, Manwha, and Manhua aren't the answer.

Nah...I'd say make it its own thing. There are even elements of the anime fandom that don't view non Japan produced works as anime.

Those fandom elements especially the older members from the 80ies to early 00ies are usually extremely justified in having disdain for almost everybody who calls themselves mangaka and their work manga when they never "walk-the-walk" in Japan or have any involvement with an actual manga or anime production. Especially when the foreigners who have done one of the other have been most keen in not calling themselves mangaka.

Secondly people calling themselves mangaka more often than not don't have drawing or writing skill to back up their claim. Which makes them and those with the ability come off as pretentious asshats for doing so. Thirdly all of the pretentious drama is easily avoided as you posted "be your own person" which manga and anime style non-Japanese artists have been successfully doing for the past 40 or so years.

Not to defend him, I just think this might be jumping to conclusions a bit because this isn’t his channel, it’s an interview on someone else’s.

Now, with that said, if he actually brings Pulido onto that one channel that he still has, that would obviously be bad.

How about that he's maintained a fanbase large enough to sustain $300K crowdfunds, or that he even saw the potential of crowdfunded comics before nearly anyone else? And that he's spit on mainstream company offers, preferring to stay independent, steadily producing the kind of content his fans clearly want for all that time?
