Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Holy fucking shit I am absolutely sick of this.
Despite the fact that I'm from one of the "no mask mandate" states, I find it incredibly ironic that corporations have basically assumed the role of government when requiring people to wear masks inside their stores. I'm out here literally telling people that I can't even breathe, and all I get are blank stares from soulless subhuman morons who never heard of the concept of natural rights or bodily sovereignty. No room for discussion is made, every objection is snuffed out, every legitimate concern cast aside, all in the name of this incredibly creepy cult of risk-averse medically obsessed filth.

I know it's a common pejorative, and that it's absolutely overused in American society, but boy oh boy if there's one group of people that could correctly be labeled "fascists," then it'd be the types of rabid dogs who enforce these rules. They just don't take no for an answer, EVER. In a way these Covidiots share the exact same flaws with police in this rotting country. You can't simply say 'no' to a police officer in the same way you can't say no to one of these corporate slaves. The more you say no, the more you refuse to listen to orders from both these types of these people the more belligerent and violent they'll inevitably get. Have these people ever tried not using brute force as a way to get people to do the things they want?

If Republicans pushing back against this bullshit don't get over their fear of fighting back against corporations, then people will be stuck suffocating to death at their dead end wagie corpo jobs forever. NEETdom is truly the way...

I really need my horrifying rating back.
Early 20s single white liberal feminist SJW living in Seattle.
Currently an administrative intern in a Covid clinic.
Yeah, it's real. People who don't live around these type of people or this type of culture tend to think this sort of thing is either satire or exaggerated. It isn't. It may sound too insane to be real, but unfortunately for the entirety of western civilization, it very much is.

Hey guys, guess what, I just had another confrontation with one of those on youtube, I had to handle his stupidity and Im dragging you idiots down for the ride as well.
Quick Edit: The video was this

I agree with you there, but you're both being autistic.

I want my rainbow back for the last paragraph. Republicans (and Democrats) will never stop sucking corporate dick.

I keep hearing people parrot "stay inside!" after a year of this lunacy and it's got me thinking: what the hell is the rationalization behind that nonsense?

Outside is technically "safer" if you want to reduce your risk of catching an airborne infection. Obviously it's also healthier to be outside as much as possible, getting fresh air and sunlight and exercise, but I digress.

Somehow "stay home to reduce the spread" and "stay inside" became one and the same, with some people even afraid to go into their own backyards without a face diaper. We've seen countries like Spain and Italy literally force citizens inside and not allow them to go for WALKS. We've seen college campuses that refuse to let students exercise outdoors.

For all this talk of "science," none of this makes any fucking scientific sense.

On top of that, people who live in apartments or dorms are more likely to catch the coof from their neighbors, especially if they hole up eternally, never leave the house, and effectively wreck their immune systems by exposing themselves to nothing but bleach and hand sanitizer, rarely seeing sunlight.
So many people seem to have developed this really irrational neurosis about "going outside" and how "outside" is a dangerous place that's very bad for you.

I have COVID right now and I have been chilling in a lawn chair in the backyard because it's so nice out and my friends and family are like "you sure that's a good idea? It might make you sick!". I'm nowhere near anyone I could infect and I don't see how fresh air and sunshine could be anything but good for me.

For people who claim to love The Science so much they seem to hold that pre-germ theory superstition about "bad air" being the cause of disease. It's really really weird and I'm not sure how people could be so thoroughly convinced breathing nothing but your own farts for a year is anything but terrible for you.

I'm not sure the people who fully buy into that nonsense will ever recover. Speaking to people one on one I don't think most people genuinely believe the doomer shit but it's still considered the more enlightened position to lean towards doomerism so they won't call out people who are being hysterical, lest they be called a COVID denier who thinks 5G is giving us bat AIDS. It's cowardly and retarded.

Because at a certain point, on Youtube of all places, you've got to just let it go with these people when they're saying the same things over and over. We're all guilty of getting into it though to be fair.
Yeah, you might be right. But in my humble defense, I was trying to see how far the guy would take it, I myself already knew I wouldn't change his mind.
Just wanted to give some insight on the minds of these people. But I understand what you meant.

I think we are going to start seeing this more and more sadly.

A lot of these rules are "unconstitutional", so to get around that Democrats will hint hint at these corporations/businesses to just refuse service to people that don't follow the rules. Because it's a private business you see.

It's almost shocking to me just how brazent they are when a policy actually does get shut down by the State Supreme Court that they don't even blink. Like 10 minutes later they say that they will get around the court's ruling "in the interest of public safety." And nobody bats an eye at this. The constitution is just something for blue lawmakers to work their way around now.

Jesus fucking Christ, our main Branch Covidian politician Karl Lauterbach is now completely losing it.
He proclaimed that we need a strict lockdown right now so we'll save the lifes of way more than 10,000 (!) people in the ages 40-60.
An age bracket where so far not even 3000 have died. Where nothing seems to indicate that any virus variants are somehow so much more deadly. When spring is rolling in.
This is a man who studied at Harvard.
This is a man who is still not afraid of going out in the streets and remaining unharmed (although his city car was smeared with paint). If this were Minecraft I'd be sad about that.

And that's why Democrats keep winning. Republicans stand for nothing other than trying to slightly slow the Democrats down rather than actually standing up to them, and their constituents generally are nowhere near as rabid as those for the Democrats. The former largely just wants to grill, the latter has an insane minority attack dog that wants grilling listed as some kind of hate crime, and no one sane on either side really stands up to them.

@The handsome tard Henny calling Florida "a insane place full of degenerates who have no understanding of health and safety regulations" is rich considering they probably think California is doing a great job on the coof front despite the petition to recall Newsom and the streets of major cities are covered with used needles and human waste.

Meanwhile what is the High Priest Fauci up to.

This expression comes to mind: never argue with an idiot because they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience (of being an idiot).

"O Canada, our true North, strong, and free"
It's complete fucking bullshit. I'm Ontario born and raised, and I'm angry and ashamed of how this province is conducting itself. No citizen of a free country should ever have to justify to the state why they are outside of their homes. It doesn't matter if there's a pandemic or not; if I want to leave, just to go for a walk around the block, I should be allowed to do so, and the police should have no power to stop me, and make me justify why I'm outside my home. I can only hope that the police say they won't be enforcing it Big Dougie's increasingly draconian measures. There was a time in my life when I felt pride in my country. Those days are long gone, and I pray the day of the rake comes for us Leafs
And naturally the enforced consensus is that this is only happening because we didn't lock down hard enough when it all started. Incidentally how did Australia keep their numbers so low? Is it simply that being an island nation with a "fuck off, we're full" mentality makes the strategy genuinely effective? Are the numbers outright doctored to make countries that do what Globohomo wants look better?
