The thing I love about all of this is that his Chauvin tweet wasn't really about any company clout chasing the verdict but the fact he couldn't profiteer off of it as well. Its fucking amazing. His greed was so strong that it overrode his ability to straddle that line that kept him on Twitch. It's amazing. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut but no. He wanted to make money off clout chasing too and a topic arose he couldn't talk about and he just had to stomp his feet.

"You see guys, I understand how the black community feels. I was swatted and some cop like Chauvin could have killed me too. It's really sad. Oh, we got a $10 tip from Ice1488 making him the tip leader. Let's get him on the leaderboard. *leans in to snort into the mic* He said, "Imprisoning Chauvin is only putting his Knee of Justice in a target rich environment." Wow dude. Dohoohoohoohoo."

Everyone is celebrating while forgetting this is DSP we are talking about.

He lost youtube partnership, alienated many of his fans, been a-logged by some of the werided motherfuckers on the planet, fucked with the literal goverment, but this is supposed to be the final nail in his coffin?

DSP could find a way to profit in a nuclear fallout I am convinced at this point

He will probably manage to carry on his pathetic existence and "career." But the change in routine and income is going to hopefully produce some decent entertainment.

How does this affect him? A LOT is the answer

Per the finance thread and Phils own words, he just lost thousands of dollars a month in income (probably about half of his total income). Bits and subs are a gimme for him. Free money that people give him basically (replacing cash with another currency is a way for business to obfuscate the true cost of what you just did). Subs are great for streamers because that IS something for the community. You pay $5 a month, get some cool emotes that you can use anywhere on the site. (I'm ignoring how retarded it is to even sub for pixels because that's completely lost on people who have had twitch and subscription culture normalised). Whales OFTEN drop sub bombs and the whole community benefits (this goes for other streamers too). But thats all gone, what does that mean?

Phils ONLY income (now) is tips and patreon (negligible). If he stays on twitch he can ride twitches coattails a little longer, but without subs to sucker in newbies or keep the trolls around, its going to be a real quick death on twitch.

Youtube? DLive? insert Chinese scam streaming site here? They each have their draws (youtube has memberships and superchats for example) BUT not only does he have to happily embrace it, he has to sell it to his fans. Can't gift subs on youtube btw, so there STILL goes a huge chunk of income AND community engagement. Not to mention he would now be beholden to youtubes algorithms (which he consistenly complains about) OR another streaming site that he hopes is popular enough. Look at Mixer, those that went there drew much smaller crowds compared to twitch (see: Ninja) because people arent going to your shitty site to follow you, they take the easy option and stay on the site (this explains why reddit and twitter has been so good at holding off its competition, no one wants to go to a dead website with bots, even if they hate it). This 'laziness' is why Null has been struggling with funding for the site. If he had paypal i'd chuck him some money, but he cant do that (fuck payment processors btw) he has to do crypto and I am not learning an entirely new currency system to give someone money for nothing (sorry erverlord, i love you and this site but yeah). This is pretty standard human behaviour, see: GabeN and piracy.

Without twitch, he loses his primo real estate to sucker in his audience. After a short sharp hit, he will decline massively. See: Ethan Ralph once he got bounced from youtube (for the last time)

I'm only an occasional Phil follower. Assuming this ban sticks, how screwed is Phil, realistically?

Also, what's the thing about not talking about bits in relation to money? They're not allowed to say how much of a cut Twitch gets compared to the streamer? Is this some "they're not funbux because Jeff Bezos says they're not" type of thing?
Yeah, for some reason you’re not allowed to say that bits are equivalent to money.

I dont care if he somehow makes up for the money. Squeze those fucking paypigs even more.

But this partnership gone... This needs to stick. It has to, it really has to, to have my feels ❤️.

Does dlive or yt has gift subs?
It's free to subscribe to a channel on YouTube, but I'm not sure about their "membership" thing (which is monetized, iirc it's basically like a mini Patreon within the channel?). I don't think so.
Dunno about Dlive

For now, with Khet's advice, Phil resolved to stay on Twitch as a nothing.
That's a lie. If she was there, she would have told him to get a job.

This is why you save a nest egg when you are a neet dumbass lol.
Now this is why one needs a 'rainy day' fund. And I bet there wasn't a cloud in the sky there today. lmao.
This is up in air. The likely reason is he doxxed one of viewers before he was allowed to donate. But it could be related to stolen credit cards used to buy bits and cheers.
Phail has no control over some scammer with stolen plastic.

one of the hardest things to do as a "streamer", is move your fan base to a different platform

but dave wants them to move platform, pay him extra to make up for people who won't convert, also pay him extra for lost subs, gifted subs, cheers and ad-revenue

this is the exact same thing that killed the vest streak, expecting people to make up the lost income

he wants his income to stay the same cause he knows how fucking good he has it, but at the same time, he could lose 50% of his income and still be making $60,000 a year

so apparently $60k a year brings tears to his wife's eyes and dave is really out here claiming $60k a year is something to be afraid of?

I really want to hear dsp say "thanks for the lemon" on dlive

what the fuck are you talking about? his point was that Phil is intelligent and a *good* con artist. My point is that he is neither. The man is equating being successful at something as being good at it.

because i'm sure no one here can name anyone that they know personally who is successful while being shit at their job, right?
He is a good con artist because he found the scam that works and continues to use it. Just because it's not new and flashy doesn't mean it isn't effective for what it does. You do not have to reinvent the wheel. Phil knows his audience and how to grift them. He knows what heartstrings to pull on and how to hook whales with false promises. He is a good con artist.

Is he terrible with money? Yes. Does he make bad decisions? Yes. Is he a good con artist? Yes.
