That’s one of the most glaring things to me about their identities, how it can be undone by almost kind of admitting to themselves the biological truth.
Like as a woman, if I have a physical issue that mostly guys do... I’m having trouble thinking of one, let’s say my hands. In my many years in the field of troonery I would say that often as Gender Non Conforming and Socially Awkward men they have a really hard time fitting in and getting attention in the ways that men usually so. I think a big part of this view comes from the fact that so many of them live their lives online. Either they are NEETs or even if they are in school/work, they still effectively live online. They might spend 40 hours a week out in the world, but that's just because they have to; it's a motion they go through. Their primary social life, interests etc. are all online. And, if that's the perspective you take then it's to see why they see being a 'woman' as easy mode.

They see female streamers rack up hundreds or even thousands of viewers/subscribers on Twitch just for showing their bodies and being a little coy or ditzy with their chat. Meanwhile, they stream themselves playing video games to nobody. They see 19 year old girls making thousands of dollars on OnlyFans while they sit there with their dick in their hand -- OnlyFans earning potential $0. More prosaically, they see people lavishing attention on any half-way attractive girl in their gaming circle or w/e because it's 90% male. From their narrow perspective, being a woman seems better; it's the easy way to get the online attention/money, that they dream of. Moreover, trooning out seems to get you that, your typical coomer is going to be constantly exposed to AGP troons who were literally him, say 5 years ago getting lots of upvotes on reddit or w/e.

I imagine that if Randy Stairs had been born 5 years later then instead of trying to make it big on YouTube, he would have have streamed on Twitch for 9 trillion hours to an average of 12 viewers, then trooned out and tried making porn on reddit/twitter/OnlyFans instead of making shit cartoons on YouTube.

Trans people suffer from a mind body disconnect and that is why they do not have an authentic self. Narcissists also have this (I am starting to believe more and more every year that transgenderism is a manifestation of NPD) and when you don't have a "self" you have to create a whole lot of copium bull shit to exist. Why aren't they trying to be their best selves as men? They look inward and see a void. Emptiness. That is the source of their despair - not their bodies. Every single one I have known had intense feelings of emptiness. We cannot be our best selves if we have lost the ability to see ourselves.

This is also true IMV especially for male troons, though I don't think it's NPD per se, so much as a general lack of interest in other people and relationships with them for their own sakes. That gives you that lack of an "authentic self," since that self is produced and entrenched through your relationships with other people. Social identities are generically a way of writing yourself into a give role and position vis-a-vis others. If your relationships are superficial or instrumental then you won't feel as though you have an identity and will instead generate one primarily through (often unstable) internal fantasies.

Very common it seems. I suspect there's multiple reasons for it as well. Generic femdom->Sissification porn or AGP fantasies->replacing man with a woman since they're only pseudo-bi are the most obvious reasons. However, I think it also isn't surprising that autists who have confidence/adequacy issues sometimes fall into fantasizing in the woman in their fantasies leading or compelling them into sex/a relationship, because they can't imagine themselves taking a more stereotypical role (cf. obsessing over the supposed magic of lesbian relationships).
