Doug's video is so intentionally misreading the movie that it seems like he has a personal vendetta against it. Someone in one of the response videos joked that perhaps Doug had a bully who wore Pink Floyd shirts? That honestly seems plausible. Or he liked a girl who was into Pink Floyd who rejected his advances. The uncle who molested him mentioned the movie once. Dark Side of the Moon happened to be on while his mother lay on her death bed. Something like that. Because his video is so spiteful and contrarian. It comes off as "Fuck this movie. Fuck this album. Fuck this band. Fuck these people. Fuck everyone involved in this."

I don't think it was him using this as an opportunity to show his filmmaking and singing skills because he could have picked any musical to parody. He deliberately chose The Wall out of some petty balled up hatred that has been brewing for god knows how long.

I have no idea why he chose The Wall of all things other than he vaguely remembered hearing it was freaky and weird and was going to have Corey Taylor in a video so he thought it would be... relevant? I don't think it was hate in this case but pure incompetence. He does the songs in album order in the review, not in film order. He doesn't use any footage from the movie, even when praising the animation, just some low res still images that he probably got off Google.

What I'm saying is I suspect Doug didn't even watch the movie and those were really his actual terrible takes on what the songs mean.

And while yes, artistic arrogant pandering can be annoying, they are also personal and still worthy of examination. A film might be pretentious and on its high horse but it also is the closest thing a director has in directly communicating with their audience. And in that, the work has meaning.

Doug doesn't really understand film. He doesn't understand themes or motifs. He completely misses the ball on core concepts and then shits on the movie for being pretentious and confusing.

The issue is that it was Lindsay Ellis and Lewis Louvhaug who complained about it, making it pretty hypocritical as Lindsay Ellis did the rape rap and Spooning with Spoony While Lewis masturbated to rape porn and wrote graphic rape scenes in his Angel Armor book series. 53:58 Tara says that Allison was fired for being 15 minutes late which is not the case, if you look at the skype chat as it was more the case of being 2 hours. Somehow this story has less credibility than the one where Sean Fausz was called a sexual cupcake, which is brought up at 57:23. 58:05 brings up Lindsay was the one of the people who were upset with the rape joke on TBF even though it’s hypocritical as she did the rape rap as Tara brings up at 42:42.

Similar to “Don’t ask questions, just enjoy product, then get excited for next product”, the mentality for anyone who believes stuff like CTC is Don’t ask questions, just believe victim as Tara just blindly regurgitates the document while barely questioning any of it for the last third of the video. Yeah , pretty much. I was just bothered that Tara could of double checked the claims this time, but nope the intro was the only new thing added and with that she called CA fans sheep when that wasn't really called for. It just confirmed to me that I made the right call to not watch Procrastitara again. I'm sorry for that huge post about the video as it most likely wasn't really called for and it must annoy you to hear me talk about #CTC again.

I wouldn't mind to much except it's incredibly obvious that Doug is doing this specifically for clout. He has no real passion for talking about these movies, especially considering he's constantly breaking character by reviewing something that isn't in anyway nostalgic (A movie that's 4 months old is not nostalgic, Nostalgia Critic). It's why he tends to re-review a lot of the stuff he's already covered in Disneycember. He just regurgitates an old script and thinks of excuses to extend the run time to 20 minutes as opposed to having any real nostalgic connection to the films.

If he had any talent he'd see the easy spin off money of "Non-stalgia Critic" and make bank. Ripping into every new movie that catches his eye. That and maybe reviewing things and then writing his dumb skits around not being random shit but actually praising or taking down real issues might make him relevant again.

All of that takes talent though and an understanding of how to be creative and an understanding of films, not to mention multiple watches, taking notes, putting in work, writing scripts, finding jokes that work rather than shitting out endless festering shit.

- Between 2011 and 2014 I watched him rigorously on wednesdays begore going to the University, never suspecting anything dark behind the site or the people, although I avoided the movies
- IHE got it, Procrastitara got it, and everyone who can colour inside the lines would get the message of Garbage Pail Kids, except Doug
- The probability of Doug ripping off the Numismatic homeless man from UHF for Chester A. Bum is higher than a coicidence. He imitated the mannerisms down to a T, and I refuse to believe every homeless person sounds and talks the same.
