Philosophy Tube / Oliver Lennard / Oliver "Olly" Thorn / Abigail Thorn - Breadtube's Patrick Bateman.

That was painful to watch. Paris is tearing up about his family not supporting him while Olly is sitting there going "teehee! I'm such a girl!".

I wonder how truthful Paris' book will be about what happened as the victim of the robbery later died because if it. He's used the name "Byron" because his deadname isn't public knowledge.

I tried to find a link for BBC article about the robbery, having seen it tweeted by this account before but it seems that Paris is having results about them blocked from searches:

I couldn't find the article by other methods either. Here are some tweets about Paris that I could find from the user before they disappear too:

Interesting that Paris both wants to erase and capitalize on his past.

Edit - This post has more info on Paris for anyone interested:

Edit 2 - Found what i was looking for. Lees is Paris' real surname, he's from Hucknall, and would have been around 16 at the time of this robbery (Paris lies about his date of birth), and the sentence length matches up:
why is it transwomen are either fetishists, stalkers, pedos, rapists or murderers?

Don't limit it to just one of those. Paris is both a murder and a fetishist:

There's also this:

Another talk from the same event. A panel this time. Olly larps constantly about healthcare for troons etc. Also demands for “free housing.” The other panelists are a “bisexual” Black woman and a SJW Jewish woman who runs a vagina museum, 🙄. Olly says he’s looking forward to fishing with his Dad like they used to, only now “in Girl.” 🙄 Olly bitches that none of the candidates for London mayor “fully support Trans rights,” whatever that would mean. Olly says “your Queerness is yours!”, and that no one can tell you how to troon out. The host asks Olly what he recommends in popular culture and he says, “Babes, you introduced me saying how I read five Shakesphere plays, I don’t know about pop culture!” Which is a) super cringe and b) it’s crazy he felt like it was okay to address the host that way. Olly says that “every single trans person I know is planning on leaving the country.” Presumably to come to the US? Maybe they are all going to follow Contra around like he’s the Pied Piper of troons.

19:00 - 19:30, Olly’s troon fever dream butts up against reality, lol.

It’s super awkward how Olly keeps saying mmhhmm in the background the whole time.

The crazy laughter sounds so deranged. Olly wants to boom out a raucous (male) laugh but tries to stifle it.

“Paris” seems to indicate that class issues are more important to his view of the world and his experiences. Olly dramatically says it’s very hard right now for LGBT people. “Paris” says, “it’s very hard for a lot of people right now...” Olly just can’t stop with the muh LGBT inequality LARP.

And just generally this could not have been more awkward. I’m unfamiliar with the author of the book but having listened it’s clear that he has struggled for probably decades with his gender dysphoria or whatever. So many times “Paris” was sharing something and Olly would attempt to equalize their stories and it’s just SO CLEAR that Olly is larping. “Paris” indicates what it was like going through a journey of many years, and at a time when there WAS a social price to be paid for being gender non conforming, and Olly is mmhmming in the background and then adding an awkward rejoinder that totally falls flat. “Paris” is polite and seems to accept Olly as trans but you can read in “Paris’s” tone and comments that deep down Paris knows Olly doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about.

Olly DM’d “Paris” and “Paris” ignored it because Olly was just another dude at the time. It’s interesting that Olly was reaching out not to ask about how to SURVIVE THE FASCIST REGIME of TRANSPHOBIC BRITAIN, but rather for styling tips.... Pretty telling.
I haven't watched through the whole thing yet but had to point out the part at 25:20. 'Paris' is trying to discuss how he's being very open about his struggles in his book and how he'd 'almost rather take his clothes off'' instead because even that would make him feel less vulnerable in comparison. Olly then immediately jumps on the first chance to be horny and says "well feel free if you'd like to haha". Paris tries to remain professional, deflects this and then goes back to trying to sell his book while Olly drags this out a bit. It's unreal how Olly can't control his fetishes for one second even when Paris is trying to appear genuinely open/vulnerable (even though it is just in order to sell his book).

Also I agree that this video is an interesting look at someone who actually seems to believe they're trans vs. someone who is doing it for attention and to satisfy their weird fetishes. Olly doesn't match his energy at all and often misinterprets Paris' point, the interview is very hard to watch as a result.

I'm going to be 100% honest, I haven't bothered watching any of his videos post-trans (or more than like, 3 pre-trans) because I don't want to bother seeing the weird gimmicky fetish shit - but I watched a few minutes of this and when Olly starts talking I actually jumped. Jarring hearing him talk in that faux-gay-femme-whatever voice, makes my brain do the little black cartoon scribbles trying to decipher how the fuck a broad shouldered, dick-and-balls man is sounding like that.

Also LOL @ the David's book being called "What It Feels Like for a Girl". So unbelievably on the nose and I can't tell whether it's so sad it's funny or if it's making me mad.
Don't limit it to just one of those. Paris is both a murder and a fetishist:

This is just so cringe. Olly's been "out" for about four minutes but is already looking at himself as some sort of spokesperson for LGBT issues. It's so hilariously forced that it's funny trying to watch people from avoiding on calling him out. They all know this is bullshit and Olly's just some upper middle class straight dude larping.

Imagine how crucified a woman would get for turning up to a 'prestigious' event in rumpled, unmatching clothing like that. You don't wear baggy man pants with strappy heels, and if you're trying to play down your enormous man hands and shoulders, a tux jacket is not the best choice, especially if you're going to pad your bra to basketball dimensions. (also wtf is going on with his toes)

I havent even watched it but your description is enough to make me cringe
That is just a man in a suit (a poorly tailored one at that) with heels

When troons say “trans rights” I take it to mean the right to permanently/irreversibly fuck up their bodies, with few to no limits on access to the pills and surgeries, including for underage kids, which is terrifying due to the amount of trenders who grow up to regret it. And the right to go into women’s changing rooms with their cocks flopping about.

Also the “your queerness is your own” statement - if that’s the case, Olly could have just not gone the whole nine yards and turned himself into a parody of what a woman is, fake high pitched voice and all - he could have simply declared himself non binary or “queer” with they/them pronouns and started wearing girly clothes but changed nothing else, and still gotten the approval from his woke audience. Not to mention the real reason for his troon-out, attempting to win back his dear Nyk who’s suddenly decided he’s lesbian.

If Olly was your average troon, then yes, that would be what he would mean. But I don't think he knows what the hell he means when he's talking about "trans rights" - much like his drag, it's just empty catch phrases without anything behind it.

I mean, your typical AGPer gets accused of fetishising women, then Olly is fetishising trans and the whole oppression that supposedly comes with it.

Does PT own an iron? There’s no excuse for pants being wrinkled like that at a publicized event. I’m pretty sure that jacket is a women’s jacket (the sloping of the hem on the bottom and the button being sewn on PT’s left) and looks like it’s on the larger end of sizes. Wearing clothes that are too big makes you look bigger rather than slimming you out. The cuff doesn’t hit the wrist properly and the cut of the jacket looks like it’s meant to accentuate a feminine waistline and not be too long on a shorter body. It looks ridiculous and emphasizes PT’s broader and taller build even more.

That casual cotton shirt underneath looks frumpy. You can see PT pulling the shoulders back, looking even broader. If you look at red carpet photos of celebrities, the women tend to tilt their shoulders in/forward a little, reducing the broadness. It just looks more flattering on camera. My point really is that it’s fine if someone doesn’t give a shit about fashion or styling, but PT is obviously trying way too hard to go for a look that doesn’t work and has the opposite effect. The reason women’s and men’s clothes are structured differently is because the bodies are shaped differently. PT would have been better off with men’s clothes that actually fit properly and could even have styled it more femininely, but chose unflattering women’s clothes instead.

I'm surprised Paris didn't help him out, especially as they mention Olly asking Paris for stylist recommendations.

This part feels like something a creepy male manager would say to a new female employee. It's not only the comment that is bad, but doing so in a situation where Paris has to ignore it to stay professional. Then adding that it was in the middle of a emotional story.

It's a really interesting moment for two reasons:

1. Olly showing that not only does he not understand the female mindset, he can't even pretend to.
2. Paris experiencing something akin to what being catcalled actually feels like for women and not liking it.

1. Olly showing that not only does he not understand the female mindset, he can't even pretend to.
I'm naturally not a very masculine man and I'd describe my personality as completely androgynous. But how the fuck should I know how a woman feels? And how does Abighoul know? A person who lived, unlike me, the majority of his adulthood as a straight man.
A big reason why the idea of gender seems so strange to me is that nobody of us can ever now how it feels like to be the other sex. We all know how warm and cold feels because we've experienced both. But what if one half of the population only can experience warmth and the other coldness? How should the "warm people" know how coldness feels like when they've never experienced it. We can only differentiate between two things if we've experienced both. But there was never once a human being who was able to be first born as a girl, then socialized as a girl/woman, was born again as a boy, then socialized as a boy/man and can tell us how both sides feel like. Even if there was a person who actually experienced the world as both sexes, one could argue that by having experienced both your perception will still be different from normal men and women.

The people who probably get closest to understanding "both genders" are very passable troons. A passable trans woman might start experiencing similar things as biological women do. But even then there are limits and even if you pass 100%, you still don't have any proof that you're genuinely understanding how a biological woman feels/thinks and vice versa. What I can know is what it feels like to be a man who might not conform to all masculine traits, but this doesn't give me the ability to feel like a woman. Compared to other men I definitely have a better understanding of women, since for a very long time most of my best friends were women. But even then some differences just can't be bridged, now matter how much you try.

I don't want to be one of those people who says things like "I've almost died looking at that picture!". But holy fuck, something about this picture is really giving me the chills.

Okay, sorry for the double post. But I've just watched some minutes of the video and I found the part from 7:00 to 9:00 very amusing.
This Paris person was talking about the new book about how he grew up poor, as a tranny (?) and with a not very likeable father. And Olly at the end had of course to say: "It's all fictional, right?" :lit:
Of course Olly doesn't want to hear about real problems, he wants to talk about trooth healthcare!. Paris had then to explain to him politely that the story actually isn't fictional. But Olly of course doesn't understand this. For him things like poverty and dysfunctional families are something that happens in movies, not in real life (Except you're black of course. There are no poor white people).

To me, the most revealing part of the talk with “Paris” was this:

Olly: [insane, breathy voice] Because people think that being trans is a problem.

Paris: Yeah, they do -

Olly: And it’s like no-no-no-no, TRANSPHOBIA is the problem!

Paris: Yeah...yeah. But if that’s ALL you are-

Olly: [interrupting] Being trans is great! Like, I don’t know about you, I’m having a blast, I love it! Like... [deranged giggles]

Paris: Well... [stammers hesitantly] I-I-I...sometimes I feel that. [But] sometimes I feel it’s a curse, frankly.

Olly is giggling like a retard and smiling with his huge Kennedy-esque jaw and teeth until hearing “curse,” then the smile disappears and he puts on a fake, “concerned” serious look.

Paris continues saying how he would rather talk about financial problems or work stress, or his relationship with his mom with his therapist, but people assume he wants to talk about being trans 24/7.

Paris goes on to compliment Olly on how well read he is, Olly demurs and giggles insanely. He sounds like Tiny Tim, full stop. Like, I get that it can be embarrassing if someone talks you up and fawns over your intelligence, but Olly’s giggling is totally creepy.

Paris is talking about how much trans visibility has changed in the last many years and then catches himself (since he’s talking to someone who literally “became trans” two months ago, so Paris quickly adds something about how it’s “only recently” that he trooned out. Olly continues giggling manically and says he was “taking notes on the sidelines for a long time.” You can tell he’s uncomfortable with the topic because it’s so clear what a scam he’s running and that this conversation - between someone who was a super flamey kid, who was bullied by his classmates and stern father, and who wore makeup fifteen years ago and clearly has a major problem with gender - and this larping fool who“came out” this year and never presented as anything other than a retarded beta male before, is a total farce and shows how full of shit Olly’s 24/7 “oppression”talk really is.
