Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Has it ever occured to ian that maybe his show was just not very good? Say what you will about SU's later seasons but it never had to rely on countless crossovers for attention and had better animation, which isn't saying much.
This
I will admit, I'll have a slight appreciation for OK due to the Sonichu joke and general vibe it was trying to archive

It's pretty clear that Ian is most likely a chill dude hopefully, (compared to other mordren creators) and in hindsight with what Cartoon Network trying to do now, OK KO was trying to be atleast a fun show that doesn't take it self seriously

Something I wish more cartoons brother, as now, they only want to be this forced overdramatic shit for Twitter clicks
(Also, OK KO was probably the last show that gavs there female characters any boobs or curves)

But at the end of day, it's still a poorly paced, poorly drawn, and not all that funny

What makes shows Grim works, is that they can wear their inspirations on there sleeves, while still standing on there own

With OK KO, if you don't understand the reference, you will get lost, and I don't know what kid would understand or be inserted in it, thus, can't stand on it's own

Honestly OKKO reminds me of FNF
Like, it's clearly takes it's inspirations of past, and you know, I'm sympathetic, because I too liked the old Newsground aesthetic, and I can't stand how bland, homogeneous and political driven modren video games are, and you want to go back

But doesn't change the fact that those old Newsgrounds content sucks ass / poorly age

And it doesn't make FNF automatically good or even unique, because they use aesthetics form a bye gone era

It's still a DRD clone at the end of day

OKKO, is still a typical cheap modren CN at the end of day

This show's still on? It had been run into the ground last time I saw it and that was like five years ago.
It's just a epilogue series for the HBO Max streaming series

The show is over lol

So Invincible...
Are you ready? The Rollercoaster is finally near the precipice and the ride is gonna be
I'm am hyped for Episode 8!

My theory for a specific secret: I believe that Omni Man was sent to Earth to scout its heroes, population, defenses, and technology in order to provide intelligence for a Viltrumite invasion. He might also have orders to sabotage Earth's defenses as much as possible. I have not read the Invincible comics, so I could definitely be wrong.

Apparently it's doing numbers on HBO Max. I'm gonna remain hopeful for now.
The only issue I can see being a roadblock to IT getting renewed is it still being a Cartoon Network production and CN shifting away from young adult-oriented shows more into a more family-friendly audience when Tom Ascheim started to oversee the network.

Was watching Space Ghost with my girlfriend the other day, and we came across an episode with a bunch of no-name amateur animation directors competing in a bunch of silly non-events to get their shows aired for real on CN.

My ears perked up when I heard a certain Tartakovsky pop up. To my fucking shock three of the shows vying for a slot were Dexter's Lab, PPG, and Johnny fuckin' Bravo. The other two were some shit, but wow it was like watching a piece of history. Powerpuff Girls ended up "winning" but we all know how things ended up. Seeing McCracken in the flesh made me a little sad, all things considered.

It was a blast, made me remember times more hopeful, otherwise.

That was the World Premiere Toon-In, the special that launched the What-a-Cartoon program to the world and inadvertently gave birth to most of CN's 90s lineup.

Did they have the cartoon clips? The version on the Space Ghost DVD didn't for some reason (but the one on the PPG DVD did).

They had the clips from Dex (DeeDee threatening Dexter before turning him into a rabbit), Johnny (him hitting on a zookeeper and getting thrown into the gator pit with no sfx), and one of the literally who toons (some duck making unfunny jokes). PPG's pilot/pitch episode was included at the end and the other literally who toon had a title card and nothing else.

Also thank God for the site this is on, because the Space Ghost DVD situation is a shit show.

Oh wait, that’s Patton Oswald voicing MODOK, isn’t it?
Patton Oswalt, at least for me, is the definition of “a face for radio”. Pretty good voice actor, bad, bad, bad… everything-else actor. Currently not holding that against the new series, though we’ll see how it goes.

I still kinda hate the guy for going after James Rolfe over that crappy Ghostbusters movie, but I shouldn’t hold that against the show itself.

That's exactly what happens. [/ISPOILER]
