You take this perspective because you are a human, and a rather closed-minded one. Roaches probably don't care but for a rat a little rat baby is more valuable than a human baby.@Toasty makes the argument that a woman who has birthed a child hasn't done anything more than a rat or roach reproducing. With that, I completely disagree. The value of a human life is entirely higher than that of a rat or roach.
The only difference is bigger brain mass compared to the rest of the body. Other than intellectual capacity and size - a rat as a mammal is very similar and a roach is much more impressive than a human. An infant is a complex creature that is born, entirely more complex than a rat or roach. From emotions to soul structure to body movements, a newborn is much more complex and valuable than an animal or insect.
Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you? A book recommendation - feel free to ignore:Any woman who has grown and brought a human life into the world through her body should be eligible for immediate retirement. What a task!

But the actual task is to rise that new human into a decent person.
...or people who value actual decent parenting over biological processes.I'm pretty sure the only people who are going to devalue pregnancy and childbirth are barren women and sexist men. Hands down!
