The problem with both Terf and inter-sectional femminism is the presumption everything is about Femminism and has to incorporated into it. I believe in Democracy and infrastructure this has fuck all to do with my thoughts on religion or the endangered species. Femminism would probably be better served if they disengaged from Transgender issues altogether and simply addressed it as a seperate issue based on personal views.
Cry me a fucking river.
Feminism was always going to have to address the trans question at some point because it points to something as fundamental to the movement as: '
who are we fighting for?' You can't fight to defend your homeland from its neighbours if no one knows where the border is.
And because the word 'woman' is so commonly conflated with 'victim of misogyny', troons think it's impossible to be either one of these things without the other. The reasoning goes that if they're women, feminism
must fight for them. If it doesn't, then they are not real women. Worse than that even, is the fact that feminism founded on Marxism simultaneously views men as the enemy.
I truly believe feminism is a big part of what made troons so crazy. If it weren't for the way the movement demonises men, they'd probably still transition and call themselves
women, but in a far looser sense - partial women, honourary women, or maybe some weird third gender. But
biologically female without qualifiers? That is a direct response to terfism.
Since you're either an oppressor or a victim when it comes to feminism, troons associated themselves with the latter to avoid being lumped in with the former. Deep down they must know it's a difficult position to defend though, and so they defend it with all their might. Any attempt to imply that they are 'partial' or 'not entirely' women is viewed as an attempt to kick them out of the category entirely, because that's what it may as well be,
So much stuff about trans people makes sense when you view it through this lens, like trans women in female-only sports, the stuff about dating preferences, and their insistence on people using the right pronouns.
