Can you even trace through thick ass paper like that?

If you have a thin piece of tissue paper you can put that over the thing you want to trace, trace it, and then put the tissue paper over the thick cardstock and use a not too sharp pencil, press firm, but not enough to rip the tissue paper, and you'll leave indents on the thicker paper. If you put the paper near a window you can see the indents, and then draw them in.....At least that's how I did it as a young kid, never had a powerful backlight.

Whoever said she should be drawing her own tattoo designs - she tried. For about an hour. Then she gave up.

The apple and snake one doesn't look half bad compared to the latest three that she slapped on herself. If she got a real tattoo artist that is.

If any actual tattoo artist here can weigh in, I'd be very grateful. I understand that American traditional means that the designs are much more simplified, but I'm guessing "simplified" doesn't mean "linework that a 70 year old with Parkinsons does on an actual human body."

Not a tattooist and don’t have any, but I think it’s an interesting art form when done RIGHT (primarily American Traditional). American Traditional is old style — but that does NOT mean it’s supposed to be sloppy. In fact, cleanliness is key because of how simple the design and color palette is supposed to be. An obvious mistake is obvious with these types of tattoos. Any anatomy mistakes, patchy color etc. are gonna be noticeable.

It seems like a frog with a knife in it is kind of unusual. There is only one tattoo I could find which is kinda close to what she has.


It's almost like the tattoo artist wanted that same frog, but couldn't figure out how it'd look like from a different angle.
Otherwise the most normal tattoos related with frogs in American traditional that I could find was various ones holding/playing a banjo, smoking a pike or about to eat a fly/mosquito.

Side by side, you can see how this is totally NOT done in the proper style. It looks like the artist was trying to do a shitty version of a Cholo Black and Grey style tattoo.

the reason you didn’t find many similar examples is because a frog is NOT standard American traditional subject matter. Anisa’s crap is mostly a style called neo-traditional.

Frogs are a common Japanese tattoo subject, but they don’t look like this and don’t have daggers.
