1. Never assume that political theater is reality, they may just be talking big.
2. Any power China had over Biden and crew died when he was elected, any dirt they could release would be brushed off by the media as fake and unworthy of even reporting on.

The China conflict is the Navy’s conflict, so there’s an entire branch of the US military that will at all times see China as the primary OPFOR. What Biden thinks is irrelevant.

I would assume that the Marines also consider China the main opposition too, since they are ultimately under the control of the Secretary of the Navy, but what about the Chairforce? It’s not completely 1:1.
The Army doesn’t need to justify itself - almost all wars end up as land wars - and the Marines are OORAH SPECIAL FORCES so get a pass as well. Navy and Air Force however need near peer enemies, and so are the most political of the Armed Forces. I personally have nothing but antipathy for the Air Force’s brand of politics and procurement policies. The Navy just wants to build good ships, the Air Force wants to enrich Boeing and Lockheed.
