They've always been this stupid, but they started from a relatively sane ideological place, and it takes time and engagement to develop their level of stupid, based off the whole woke one-up game they play. They did place fifth column agitators in the West during the Cold War and a lot of the BS you see these days is still an ideological dead-hand left by them, but the "dysfunction" you see these days benefits the establishment. Most states where BLM was wildin' out had lock-down orders in effect - the police could have shut down the protests before they even started by invoking the sacrosanct Black Coof protocols, but didn't. They are burning buildings, beating people, killing them in some cases. One of the the Senate office buildings' ground floor was occupied during the Kavanaugh hearings. The national mall is occupied and someone tries to burn down a church. Tepid responses, only ones the national media carries are democrats fellating the right to protest. No one in government worries even as cities burn, because it is all controlled opposition.

I think the very fact that they just tossed the alpacas' food onto the floor in one of the pictures taken (with one individual alpaca lying on top of the hay) shows that they don't know what they're doing. It also doesn't help that they've packed most of the alpacas into a single ramshackle building, with no regard to how much space they'd need. While such don't prove physical abuse, they do show that the men of the tranch are more concerned with their personal pride than actually caring for the beasts they own.
