The funny thing about the shit Xbox controller is it is a result of Microsoft's brief work with Sega back before the began the Xbox fiasco. A large portion of the failed first Microsoft console's fanbase were bitter and angry Dreamcast fans who latched onto the Xbox after their console took a dirtnap.

And they have been stuck with their shitty layout ever since.

One would imagine after almost twenty years and 0/3 in the console market they would have bit the bullet and come up with something that is a good as the PS2/3/4 controllers.
This is an objectively wrong post.

Aside from maybe the Dreamcast bit

My knee jerk reaction is N64. And I've heard the Wii controller plus he thing you plug into it (forgot the name, it has a joy stick and 2 bumpers). Bu I'd argue the wii remote is pretty good for many of the games, and even if the motion control was shit, it was a suitable stand in NES controller for the original mario games

Those on about the Jaguar controller: it was actually a pretty good controller, minus the ridiculous number pad of course. It was large and comfortable, unlike a lot of earlier controllers that were uncomfortable in larger hands. If they got rid of the number pad, the revised controller that no one ever actually used would've been great:

If you count computers, look at the early machines by Sinclair, which were very popular in the UK. First, there's the ZX80 line with membrane keyboards.

Then the Spectrum line, which at first had these mushy buttons.

Despite these shit keyboards, British boomers recall gaming on these pieces of shit fondly. The low prices made them more accessible than more capable systems with real keyboards like Commodore and Apple machines.

Objectively the worst thing to ever happen to gaming in addition to being the worst controller.
Eh, I was thinking of going there, but the truth is that I've had a lot of fun with games on my phones. I most fondly remember the Gangstar series of blatant GTA clones. Yes, they would have been better with a controller, but they found some ways to make it playable enough to be fun with a touch screen.

But yes, I don't like that you can't just buy mobile games anymore. Now it's all just gems and loot boxes, or at least it seems that way. I can't remember the last time I tried a new mobile game instead of just playing one of the ever-dwindling collection of old ones that still work.
