Involuntary psychiatric holds are a double edged sword - to begin with, all medical treatment must cease once the person is officially deemed sectioned. In some cases, this includes removing aids from the person - glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, mobility aids.
Umm, what? That is pretty fucked up. Is there reasoning for that other than weird US law?

that's one of the most bitterly ironic things in this shitshow: all things considered, Kelly's body seems to be very good at repairing itself. all of the wounds she's given herself throughout the years tended to heal pretty quickly when she wasn't fucking around with them, iirc. and these grafts, fuck's sake, these were healing stunningly. even right now she's saying the stumps are healing quickly and i've got no reason to believe otherwise, since she'd definitely let everyone know if that wasn't the case.
i bet she's pretty unhappy with that lmao

such a waste of resources, time and personnel's attention, isn't it? i can only imagine how the surgeons responsible for these once so pristine fucking grafts were/are feeling...
Oh, Kelly absolutely hates that her body is good at healing itself. She got her port removed in 2018 and she was so shocked it went perfectly (despite her fucking with it so much previously, it got infected several times) that she immediately escalated her misterious hand and foot swelling/discoloration to misterious blistering and bleeding sores... This would eventually become her "Behçets".

The most infuriating thing abt the grafts she destroyed is that she actually admits to picking at them in the beginning. There's a picture where she is showing how well they are healing and there are a few raw, bleeding spots. She admits those are her picking at the grafts because they are itchy. Fast forward a few days/weeks, the red/bleeding spots have multiplied but now they are her Behçets coming back... Sure, Kelly.

You are her surgeon. You do your job, after hours of concentration, sweat and labour, you finally place the last staple and admire your handiwork. "Well done, well done indeed," you think as you order the nurse to dress the remnants of once perfectly good legs. You go home to your family, your wife greets you and asks how the surgery went. You say you think you did a fine job and that the patient heals well - the legs have been saved. It's almost midnight, you're too tired to fuc and kiss your wife goodnight. In your dream you see the cadaverous legs, necrotic flesh jutting out of the deep lesions.
You come in early in the morning. No time for a coffee, so you look a bit shit. You go on your rounds and check on the grafts. The dressing is a little loose and you grow suspicious. You unwind the wraps and remove the gauze. There are scratch marks all over the new skin. "No she didn't..."
But she did. She looks at you with psychotic mischief, scanning you for a reaction.
A sadness takes you, a sense of futility and veiled anger, like when your sister's toddler puked on the magnificent wedding cake your wife made her.
Kelly almost giggles. Something turns inside you and you take the rest of the day off.

Getting rid of it at the source would be amputating her hands.
Can the doctors please just amputate her hands already?
Amputating her hands would have been more useful.
They should amputate her hands.
Honestly if they amputate her hands, most of the problem would be solved.
Guys, I have a feeling her doctors have amputated the wrong limbs.

I feel for the poor amputee communities she'll try to insert herself into.
"How did you lose your legs?"
"Iraq".
"Car accident."
"Cancer."
"Afghanistan."
"I have a super super rare, super special disease the only presents in Asian men---"
"You're a white chick."
"Yeah, but I had it, then the skin grafts didn't take---"
"How the fuck did they not take?"
"They didn't take and the doctor's couldn't figure out why I kept getting infections---"
"Guys, I did a quick Google search. Bitch is crazy. Block her."
"WHY DOES NO ONE BELIEVE MEEEEEEEE?!"

Wow. This thread has been a ride and a half!

I’ve started following a few of the posters with medical/pathological expertise, please don’t be creeped out - it’s the combo of genuine knowledge posters and shocked pikachu posters that make for a really fascinating read.

There is no reason why anyone would prescribe antibiotics after surgery when topical antiseptics do the job just as well. Is this kind of approach more common in US or Canada?

not a professional, just an interested observer, but the NHS is well keen on those IV antibiotics that are more or less Domestos. I think it’s pretty common to get 48 hours on a drip and then 5 days of oral antibiotics. Whether this is to some kind of prophylactic strategy I could not say but if it is then I would imagine it’s something that is less widespread now than previously due to the hospital-loving superbugs it no doubt contributed to.

Considering the state of this woman’s legs tho, she will surely be getting a week long dose of the ol’ IV domestos?

One of my friends is a female amputee and she reports that the online support community is already FULL of crazies! Between the stump fetishists, the play-acting amputeewannabes in wheelchairs and those who claim Body Integrity Dysmorphic Disorder (some of whom damage their own limbs beyond repair using dry ice) Kelly will fit right in.
Might even find herself a boyfriend 🌈

(edited to add: the BIID amputees and wannabes are often troons, which is unsurprising, when you think about it)

My friend had to pretty much beg for her (single above the knee) amputation, despite the leg being absolutely useless to her for most of her life due to some kind of rare childhood bone cancer. She had repeat surgeries to try and salvage the leg and doctors just weren’t willing to give up, even though dragging a useless leg around for over two decades clearly impacted her quality of life.
The amputation gave her a lot more freedom and she has no regrets but she had to go through repeated psych evaluations and pre op counselling before actually reaching the operating theatre.
It’s wild to witness someone reaching the point where medics agree that double amputation is the best treatment option purely due to the patient’s own self harming behaviours.
Especially in a country with state funded healthcare, where medics aren’t motivated by profit. There is no way this decision was taken lightly.

Is this recent? I don’t remember her eyes being this fucky... 712E46CC-83CA-461A-A2B5-FB64F29F1E16.jpeg20519FEA-F9F7-48C5-B8AB-FDF76CAA1458.jpeg

Motivation to take the stairs for a lifetime.
Really wonder what kept her roommate from murdering her and stuffing the body down a garbage chute. It's one thing for your cohabitant to blast SoundCloud rap at six in the morning or forget to use coasters, I'd get pretty heated if I found foamy leg juice all over my towels, not to mention having to vacuum up gangrene flakes every damn week.
What a fucking sale: "Well, the place does come with the last Canadian leper, but there's Timmies just round the corner and after your lease is up, you might get deified!"

Holy fucking shit this is worse than NSFL. She quite obviously has dermatillomania, which is the reason she’s “mysteriously” losing so much blood. Why has no one in her life made her wear gloves 24/7, or something similar to prevent her from picking??? Who the hell let her pick herself to her bones without intervention until she had to get a double amputation???
This is one of the reasons why users like you who have/did not even try to read this thread from the beginning are getting mocked by participants of this thread here.

I'm going to guess she faked being hacked in order to force Gina to be involved in the latest drama. Gina likely got fed up, probably due to constant requests, and that's why Kelly just made a new page.
Nah, it’s to have a clean slate for her latest story. Don’t want all the other amputees to know she did it to herself.

Lazy eye can be "fixed" by wearing glasses with a prism in the lens that pulls the eye back towards center and reduces the vision doubling a lot of people who have strabismus or related conditions experience. It can be helpful if the affected eye is weaker too, the lenses can correct the vision which prevents the brain from ignoring the signal from that eye to make the visual processing easier which is a real risk. A lot of people who have that particular condition find out that their brain is only accepting input from one eye. If they close the "good" eye and try to look through the weak eye, it will be fine for a few seconds, then go black as the brain tries to switch to the other eye. Even if that's not the case and her vision is fine, she can still get prism lenses from the doctor that will make her look normal.
