I have a theory.
What if Hy is just going along with whatever Shaner says because he doesn't have too many clients and needs the money?
As easy as it is to just sit and call Hy names, I really don't think he's doing all of this willingly.
We know Len doesn't have much money, but perhaps there's something we don't know. Maybe Hy thinks if he goes along with whatever Shaner says he will get a bigger chunk of the damages payment.
Who knows.

I agree that something is off, but with some of those settlements they obtained I'd be surprised if he's in dire straits.
I think he is most likely being misled by Len or is just not looking at it hard enough. Who knows!

Senile over insane if I was placing a bet, IMHO. Hy is a personal injury lawyer with a picture of a tiger on the main page, he's aggressive and thats what he wants to portray. He is getting something out of this, ambulance chasers don't do pro bono (unless it's national news, read free publicity). What he is getting out of this is pure speculation, maybe some of Gloria's famous fudge or maybe some of Gloria...
Note: I know nothing about law, so I really can't say for sure that ambulance chasers don't do pro bono, but the nature of that kinda gig I'd lean heavily to a big fat NO.

It kinda sounds like Hy might be semi-retired or only working on the occasional case as extra help, seems like he took this because he knows Shaner as a local, and is just the right combination of old/bored/senile/ornery to jump right in since he's got nothing better to do.

Interestingly, when he was trying to get "Sara"'s phone number so Hy could verify that she was an actual person, he linked me to this case as "proof" that Hy was an actual lawyer, because apparently he thought that the Farms weren't actually aware that Hy is a real person and not another fictitious Shaner sock.
I never clicked on the link so I didn't actually realise it's Hy's son, but holy crap... how did Shaner get involved with these people?
I'm 90% certain this is Kaufman posting on Shaner's behalf. The writing style is quite similar. Don't get me wrong, they both can't write properly if their lives depended on it, but they both have their own unique mistakes. Kaufman doesn't capitalise as much and blatantly misspells a lot of simple words (such as "wood" there) while Shaner capitalises incorrectly and doesn't misspell so much as use the incorrect word in the wrong context. Kaufman's also more aggressive than Len and is more likely to threaten or use threatening language than Len is.
Yep, that's the random girl from Arizona that he thinks I am. When he asked for an email address so we could "talk in privet" I gave him an old fake email I had laying around: mhurst@journalist.com. Somehow, he extrapolated this poor girl from that email address and became convinced that was actually me, complete with creepy comments about how my "real" photos were much sexier than my "fake" ones. This was part of the reason I decided to pull out and just release what I'd already gathered to you guys - I didn't trust that Len wouldn't start creeping on this girl, which of course he fucking would.
To Len, because I know you're lurking here: that isn't me. I'm a 23 year old male who lives in Melbourne. Don't drag yet another innocent person into your bullshit.
And yeah, re: those fake screencaps with Curt, there are a lot of them and Len seems to think they're real proof of the Lenspiracy. From one of his other "inform ants" obviously. I actually have all of them saved on my hard drive. Aside from the font not matching what an iphone actually uses, they all have the exact same battery percentage and reception. It's a wonder Len didn't notice these things. Actually, wait, no it isn't.
EDIT: I just checked out the Facebook page and noticed he's even put up a fake driver's license. Yeah... because a girl from Arizona would have a Sydney, Australia driver's license, right? Just because the FAKE account that he believes she's using has Sydney listed as its hometown. Right.

Highly unethical, and there's no way Shaner has enough money to make it worthwhile. Any not-senile lawyer would play the autism card and take whatever deal they get offered, I think there's no other explanation other than Hy has totally lost his marbles.
