I cannot fathom needing to pass one test to graduate, with unlimited prep time, and just never doing it.Maddox's 1 math test away from graduating the university of Utah with a degree in mathematics
Could Maddox ever return to that university to just resit that one test to get his degree or does he have to apply and pay for an entire four-year programme all over again?I cannot fathom needing to pass one test to graduate, with unlimited prep time, and just never doing it.
What a retard.
I took a quick glance through the Hammer blog, and I didn't see anything about dropping out of Cal Tech. For example, he does mention having a degree here:It's in this thread from a blog (the one where he was ripping off Maddox's style of writing) and he has mentioned it breifly on the show (He says that dropping out of college worked for him) but Dax dropped out of Cal-Tech, meaning Maddox's 1 math test away from graduating the university of Utah with a degree in mathematics is further than Dax got to obtaining a degree from Cal-Tech with a degree in computer engineering.
This should of been obvious to us as every website he makes is a shitty poorly made word press blog and even then he can't be bothered to click update on plugins.
A former associate of Dax's supplied me with an archive of his now deleted blogspot account from 2003. Enjoy!
Here are some of my favorite bits:

Huh, well this is interesting. Dax has given two conflicting accounts however it appears his admitting to dropping out is in 2003 and his "I am an engineering Cal-Tech grad" is from 2005. Good find on both of these btw. I am not surprised Dax would lie about being a Cal-Tech grad, but why would he lie about dropping out? My guess is he lies about being Cal-Tech alumni because he thinks no one checks and verifies... but who knows he maybe play 5D chess and throwing out that he is a drop out to pwn all those feminazis and Karens with bait and Dab on them with his degree and his job in building rockets for JPL (even though his resume shows he works in marketing and is mostly a silent partner).I took a quick glance through the Hammer blog, and I didn't see anything about dropping out of Cal Tech. So I'm thinking that he did in fact graduate. However, it was well documented in his resume and some other blog entries that he did maintain a stunning 2.0 GPA during his time at CT, so his incompetence still makes sense.
That is a possibility, but people who do that say they are "taking a break" or "taking a semester off" not "dropping out." Reasons for doing that are not casual ones either. They are usually due to serious medical, family, or financial issues that make being a proper full time student impossible. Dax seems to come from money, his family seems to be perfectly fine and healthy with addiquet support from other family members to step in, and the only medical issue Dax has talked about is a bad knee. When did he start? He could have dropped out for a semester or year and then went back and finished.
It's not uncommon to have an exit exam that you just can't pass. However chances are if you find your self in a situation like this you are a C or D student and not an A/B student. Maddox failed 3 times and did worse each time. The exit exam isn't created by the university normally but rather is some agreed upon test by the regional accredidation board so that anyone with a degree from a university with that accreditation (aka what separates a real university from ECPI). There are also usually some sort of restrictions on time limits, GPA, number of credits, etc. before being allowed to take these tests. It's not exactly the kind of thing where you go to a testing center and go take it like an SAT, otherwise why not teach yourself and test out.I cannot fathom needing to pass one test to graduate, with unlimited prep time, and just never doing it.
Ok. this clears things up a little bit now. If I remember correctly, earlier in his solo podcast he had an email from a listener who was asking if he should bother finishing college. I believe Dax said something about leaving school to join a business venture with a friend that ultimately did not pan out. So if he is saying that he dropped out in 2003 but had a degree in 2005, then I'm guessing that would be why. Of course, he could just be a terrible liar, which we already know he is.View attachment 2158212

Given what we've learned, I'd lean toward it's more realistic to believe Dax lies about being a Cal-Tech grad to impress people than he thought it was lulzy to lie about being a college drop out before he ever got famous.
Edit to avoid double post:

I mean Doge coin isn't a serious crypto but whatever, it's funny seeing Dax tell people to avoid like the plague then see it blow up.

Did I miss something? Is there a reason that TDS is so angry at Dogecoin? It's a joke meme coin that is having an insane price spike but it's done this multiple times over the years.![]()

If only he had a fitness trainer news babe who has placed in national fitness competitions to lead this competition...

Edit: I probably should have checked both blogs before posting, though. Good looking out.
Edit 2: Here's his resume where he boasts a 2.8 GPA at CalTech and a love for Kung Fu:

What seems odd to me is he is a piss poor web designer. Any pics he's taken for work functions back in the day have all been marketing related stuff where he specializes in SEO. He's also a co-founder of his marketing company and as far as I know that happened right out of college (be it after graduating or dropping out) and besides this resume the list of companies he worked for were all weird no name marketing companies.
Only one instance of "Diddler Dax" on the front page for "Dax Herrera." That's pretty good SEO.Yes, he leveraged his caltech degree (maybe lied on his resume) into scamming people with fake companies which don't actually provide any service for decades. Its not a mystery, he was doing basic bitch seo and was able to market himself as a 'CALTECH' student to get ahead of the pajeets who do it.
I actually know someone who had that same kinda thing happen, only they could have passed their test with ease.I cannot fathom needing to pass one test to graduate, with unlimited prep time, and just never doing it.

Maybe I'm just a simp for tertiary education, but I think I would maybe set aside one of my weekends to put a bow on those four years, even if only to say I had.I actually know someone who had that same kinda thing happen, only they could have passed their test with ease.
It pretty much just came down to never actually needing to do it due to gainful employment by then. They figured they could just go get the degree whenever they actually needed it, but never actually did.

Maddox: Um, no. (both crack up) I...absolutely not. I have nothin' to show -- I am within one degree...one test of graduating with a math degree.
Dick: Mhm.
Maddox: In college.
Dick: And your life would be no different.
Maddox: No different!
Dick: If you had that degree.
Maddox: Yeah! People ask me all the time, they say, "Hey, why didn't you go back and...and take the test?" Well, first of all, I have. I've taken the test 3 times. The first time, you know, I came within 1 point of passing, and it was heartbreaking, and then the second time I came within 2 points, and the third time I came within 3 points. So, you know. I can see the downward trend, I can see the pattern, and I realized that, uh...I changed careers and I'm a writer now. I'm a New York Times bestseller, so what do I need a math degree for?
Did he ever say which degree, exactly? Like what was it that Maddox just never fully understood? He took it three times, actually. Here’s where he talks about it in “Biggest Problem”, episode 4.
If it's the GRE Math section, I can honestly understand failing it. The first time. How he didn't go back and research how to pass it afterwards, I dunno, but point being GRE Math is really odd.Did he ever say which degree, exactly? Like what was it that Maddox just never fully understood?
It's not like the math is changing, dude could get a tutor, work at it for a year and then surely pass it.If it's the GRE Math section, I can honestly understand failing it. The first time. The label of misogynist is his brand whilst Psychopath has no meaning as anymore. The only thing this Facebook page would do is make his audience go “heh based” before torrenting more questionable files.Pretty interesting the front page results for dax herrera are some random fb page with 4 likes called
"Dax Herrera aka Dick Masterson is a hateful misogynist & a psychopath."
you would think he would use his SEO expertise to deal with that one, seems pretty easy to nip it in the bud
