Yeah, in order for this to make an interesting investigative journalism piece someone has to die or there has to be some massive catastrophe. Mistreated animals don't make the grade, it'd take them abandoning the ranch and leaving big, photogenic piles of dead alpacas and maybe burning the house down for insurance money as well. They've already posted that they vet requests for interviews, so they're only going to talk to journalists they already know will write a positive story.
There's also not really enough meat to warrant an investigative story. Neither their incompetence nor their lies are large enough to hang an expose on.
Someone mentioned Tiger King, what made sensational was the Carol Baskin murder plot. Without that it's just a story about a rivalry over pet tigers, there are colorful characters but nothing really shocking. The Noodlesandbeef scandal was another example, what made it newsworthy was a guy dying from injecting silicone into his balls. Without that it's just the story of an unhealthy relationship involving bizarre kinks.
It's likely that no one will die at the tranch, these guys aren't violent by nature. They don't take things by force, they use passive-aggressive whining to get what they want. It's more likely the whole thing will collapse from mismanagement and the troons will blame it on bigotry forever after.
I'm not fully up on Kevin Gibes but what does Penny get out of this relationship? Is it a Frank Wu type of thing where he keeps John Flynt around because he wants control over someone more pathetic than he is who is guaranteed to never leave him because he couldn't make it on his own?Kev couldn't survive on his own without Pennywise and Troon Boone - or at least comparable flatmates. You've (probably) seen his awkward waddle on video, how he can't even lift too much weight because of his AM HOLE. He can't cook, he can't clean, he can't even keep his personal space clutter-free, let alone do any other chore.
The only people who'd put up with him is other deranged troons like his "owner", Mxstress Philip "Penny" Matthew Logue.
