If Digi isn't interested in watching anime anymore or making anime critique/analysis videos, fine. But it's pure bullshit that he always hated doing them. I would say that 4 hour long slam against the Asterisk War was some of his top work. No one demanded that he do it, no one asked for it, and yet he not only made it but also included several personal bits about himself when he was a young teen to compare just what sort of audience light novel slop targets. I find it hard to believe that all of it was just some 'persona' Digi had made up in front of who, exactly? If anyone was demanding anything, it was for more Sword Art Online bashing since it was both what really got him popular and what people were craving more of. Hardly anyone gave a shit about the Asterisk War until Digi posted his videos about it, illustrating that it's exactly the cliche-for-the-sake-of-cliche petty mediocre anime that sucks, and it wouldn't be such a big deal except that over the past few years the anime industry had been producing nothing but more and more of that type of rancid sausage.

Why has he been unable to produce regular anime content? That's what happens when you never grew up and fail to develop the discipline it takes to have a job. He did a few anime videos because he enjoyed them but when it came to developing his (for lack of better word) craft he never bothered with a work ethic or structure. Instead he just turned his Patreon on. He loves the idea of passive income, and hates the idea of actually working for a living. Digi didn't even have to earn money posting rant videos. He did them because it takes a lot less time and thought to churn those out. That's what he chose to do because making 1-2 anime videos per month was just too much to ask. And instead of maturing, he's run off to hide under a loli persona (literally wants to be a child because children have no responsibilities) and surround him with people who agree with his druggy bum lifestyle.

Of course people are going to criticize that. He's on track to starving to death in the woods in less than five years at this rate.

Less than 10 minutes in and I can only wonder; why the hell is Riley sitting in a supposed 1 on 1 interview of Conrad by Oki? He doesn't even have his own microphone so he's barely audible when he tries to add to the conversation.

Good to know Oki is a c. 2016 onwards fan of Digi; that was when Conrad was at his height.

Conrad argues that deleting his media made sense as all media is temporary anyway (22:37), comparing it to an VHS tape (Oki having brought up the VHS tape analogy initially, 22:15) that fades away; Conrad, you are 100% digital, as your name 'Digi' suggested, your media isn't an analogue tape or a silent movie lost in a Fox Studio's fire, it's permanently and flawlessly uploaded to the internet. He then argues that anyone caring should have backed up his entire channel even before he broke the initial news of deleting his entire library within three weeks and if they still have a problem, then they are "entitled". Conrad really sounds like a early 2010s SJW video game journalist there.

He also at one point claims he colour codes his video thumbnails (27:41) (example, one colour for his music videos), so that his fans can choose whether or not to click a video of a genre from his main channel they may or may not like. Oki later on (around 01:10:00 onwards) asks why Conrad didn't just create a new channel for his new creative endeavours. Conrad did previously bring up the Digibro's Turntable channel, arguing that it did not bring the views he hoped after only putting four months of uploads to it.

Here is the most interesting bit which I will share below (01:05:28-01:09:02, in 360p); Conrad argues that, among other things (including disgruntled detractors of his past media), that transphobia, along with Dick's, Gunt's (lol, he has fans?) and Null's fans and the nuking of his channel (the only one that is true) are responsible for the negative backlash to his radical change to his work as an artist, c. 2020-2021. Oki doesn't buy the transphobia argument and increasingly gets exacerbated with Conrad, exploding with 'it's the CONTENT' that has completely changed that has upset his fans, before letting out a very audibly loud sigh at the end.

Should you watch "VOIDGAZERS, Ep. 8: Did I Tank My Channel??". Despite its long runtime (I recommend 1.5 or 2x speed) if you are a former honest fan, then yes, because Digibro goes back to his old style of "After Dark" style discussion about his own career and thought process. If you are just a lolcow watcher, then no, it will be boring as shit.

The juiciest nugget from this video:
(Oki is criticizing that the channel is dead) Riley: 1:33:55 "We've had conversations with people we signed NDA's about, with people that
absolutely know what they're talking about, and who have been giving us a course of action and we have been taking it. And nobody will know for a year and a half... We have a road to massive success that we can't use to justify what we're doing"
So apparently they have some super-secret NDA collab planned for ONE AND A HALF YEARS in the future (maybe the Dick Show? Whoever it's with, it seems doubtful that it could revive Digi's career)

Rough video summary:
-Oki (himself a successful youtuber) is an honest fan who has watched pretty much all of Digi's rants, analyses, and vlogs.
-Oki criticizes Digi for not sorting videos on different channels based on quality (flooding main channel and killing it)
-Digi responds by saying that he wants to give all his content the highest chance to succeed (but of course we know that just hurts all the content)
-Oki criticizes Digi for privating all videos on a whim
-Digi: "It wasn't a whim", Riley: "It did seem like a whim". (lol) Digi responds by going on saying his channel has almost gotten taken down for copyright before so people should just be archiving anyways or something
-Digi believes that his views and income will increase from here. He believes that he is in an audience transition lull, like how his audience transitioned from MLP to anime. (highly doubtful)
-At the end, I feel like Oki feels like he has to give up trying to persuade or educate Digi, he most likely feels like nothing he can say will be able to get through
-Oki notably avoids calling Digi's music and voidgazer vlogs bad, which is (imo) a core part of Digi's career nosedive
