Al-Shaqti is a bit over from the residential towers they've been leveling, no one's claimed that any rockets were launched from that area AFAIK. It's not really near the border and munitions there makes little sense even from the "they're the rockets hiding under the children & then launching them 20+ minutes away!!!" scapegoat. Unlike the strikes on the towers, with advance warning, this seems to have been a rapid strike with no roof knocks or advance warning.
Not sure how Israel will walk this back.
Pointedly, Israel is either highly effective and striking intended targets, or it's not. The Israeli position: the IDF insists that everything is as planned, yet they're striking civilian infrastructure, while Hamas seems to still be firing rockets back every bit as fast as they were before. I think they'd be better off claiming that they're just doing the best they can with limited equipment, so civilian collateral is expected, but they aren't saying that. Presumably because the far-right nationalists are more motivated to save Bibi's election if all the carnage is intentional, so the IDF's messaging heavily implies that.I will take your bait post one last time to outline my points clearly for the Kiwis reading the thread. My issue it not that Gaza is suffering, although it is tragic. My issue is not weather or not the Attacks are justified, this is war you must kill the enemy. My issue is that Israel is hiding behind Hamas for damages they have very likely caused, for optics. The attacks from Israel are much more accurate, from far more places, and with far better rockets. The footage of the lights going out in Gaza looks and sounds much more like an advanced Israeli missile than a shitty Hamas rocket.
Believe what you want about who did what, and where the blame falls. From what I can tell, this looks like Israel trying to play the innocent and caring nation, which is simply not the case. I am done with this back and forth, there is a war to archive. Have a good rest of your day.
