A couple things. One, he often laughs after lying. Second, the fact that he feels he has to pre-emptively defend himself against accusations of sending out "whale calls" is kinda weird if he really was just filling his water and pissing. It's like he still sees himself as this honest, transparent guy who'd never lie so he just continues lying as if he doesn't have an entire decade of shady, scummy antics people can point to to show exactly how untrustworthy he is.

Generally speaking, he should've done the SMART thing (though even when Phil does, he does a piss poor job of it) and denied it. But of course, he has to flex for attention and essentially say that it's true with that annoying laugh of his, proving once again his simps are idiots, and that he's playing them.
