But that's kind of part of their job?, I mean, if they create or are part of the show, they'll say whatever shit they can come up with to please fans because the more fans the have, the more seasons that show will get and that means they'll have a job. Fandom on the other hand, they gain almost nothing from defending and pushing the show (or their fanfics, OCs and own) agenda unto other people who don't like the show in the first place. To me, that's the whole issue.

The people who make the show are cows because they think the show is like, a socially important progressive tool and not just a cartoon for children they're making for children to enjoy.

I totally agree with you there. I think we all agree the creators are not the brightest bulbs in the house and are cringey too, thing is, this thread is to talk about the fandom, it's even in the title of the thread. Probably if we manage to find more stuff on a SU creator, we could make a thread on him in the Lolcow forum?. For now, lets focus on the crazy shit the fandom does.

The single most annoying part of the fandom to me is their ego. These mother fuckers are so egotistical its ridiculous. Some of the fans actually believe that the writers get their ideas from the fans, like the garnet is a fusion thing. I have seen multiple people claiming this, even saw one idiot actually asking Rebecca(I think) about it. I can't find the posts because that happened a while ago but trust me when I say it was wide spread. Like oh my god, you picked up on the foreshadowing the writers put into the show, this is now your personal fan theory and the creators are now stealing your ides. It really shows how little they know about making a cartoon and how far they actually work in advance vs whats airing currently.
I really wish I had a horrifying rating.
That's not even Rose Quartz, that's supposed to be Rainbow Quartz. She couldn't even get the names right! 0/10 try harder

This was pages and pages back, but this is what I really don't understand about the attitude so many Tumblrites have towards gender. They think that if someone is biologically male but stereotypically feminine in appearance or behaviour (and vice versa), then they must be trans. You can't simply be a man who acts girly, or a woman who acts macho -- you have to either be trans, or be in denial about being trans.
And what gets me every time is that this group tout themselves as being open-minded progressives looking to deconstruct gender roles, but in reality, all they ever seem to do is actively promote and reinforce them. When you refuse to accept that a man can't just act girly or a woman can't just act macho, then the implication is that you think that "male" traits belong strictly to men and "female" traits belong strictly to women. In this aspect, their views on gender almost bear more resemblance to those of religious fundamentalists than ordinary people.
Like, if you're a man and you're quiet, wear dresses, or like feeling pretty, then you must really want to be a woman because they are all categorically Woman Things; and likewise, if you're a woman and you're loud, wear suits, or like feeling strong, then you must really want to be a man because those are Man Things. It's bullshit. It's insulting to actual trans people, because there's a world of difference between "engaging in behaviour usually attributed to the opposite sex" and "feeling as though you were literally born in the wrong body."
It's so, so true what they say about the political spectrum being circular, not linear. These people are so hard left that in some regards, they've looped back round to being on the far right. I'm reminded of that one Tumblr post where someone wondered how much shit black people must have to put up with from their white friends, and then someone else pointed out that the real translation of this was basically "Black people and white people shouldn't be friends with each other."

They tag this because there was heavy drama involving a joke SU blog titled "Did You Know Steven Universe?" which spread non-serious/obviously fake 'facts', ie "Did You Know? Rebecca Sugar has stated that Steven is gonna die and get sent to gem heaven

It was from the early days in 2010/2011 long before Bronies became the spergfest it is now. Derpy was just a background character in the first episode that an animator made cross eyed as a joke for a few frames. Some guys on /co/ spotted it and made a bunch of fanart and jokes about her. Later in season 1 Lauren Faust caught note of it and started putting derpy in the background with deliberate cross eyes as a shoutout to the (then very few) adult males watching. It was the first time the show staff acknowledged the fans in such a direct way and it's why Derpy became such a popular icon in the brony fandom, as it was essentially "their" contribution to the show. When the tumblrites went for Derpy they were directing targeting the bronies no doubt.
