I'm not 100% on this, but I think I heard somewhere that the picture was originally taken by somebody in the room when someone was about to beat their kid or something and it was turned into a meme by people trying to be edgelords. But like I said, I heard that but there's still a pretty fair chance it ain't true. I'm really hoping that's not the case, but if it is then yeah these guys are fucked up.

According to this fandom, all the female gems must be lesbians. Pansexuality, bisexuality, and heterosexuality is gross... despite some of the creators of SU being straight, bi, and pan themselves.

They've even stepped in and essentially said that erasure is not okay, and people can ship the characters with whoever they want. Not that fans are going to listen.

What fascinates me about all this is how alienating it must be. You have to pick a position on some minor issue and hate everyone who disagrees with you, even though you all like the same show. We've watched dozens of tumblrinas bitch about how lonely and isolated they are, yet they attack anyone who dares have the same interests as them. In the real world, sharing a passion for something with someone is the kind of thing friendships are built on. You have different opinions about it, you debate, you discuss, and challenge each other because it's all just silly bullshit and it's supposed to be fun.
I bring this up because of how insane this would be in any other context. Imaging someone having that old "Batman vs. Superman. Who would win?" debate, then doxxing their opponent and calling them a rapist for disagreeing. They'd be made a pariah, because what kind of lunatic takes something like that so seriously?

Kinda late, but a while back, someone had a "queer headcanon" that a character was "aceflux." I said it sounded like acid reflux disease, but I was curious so I looked it up. Aceflux basically means that sometimes you want sex and other times you don't. Or, in other words, a normal human.

Sounds like a poor understanding of what "Asexual" means, which is apparently where they got half the portmanteau from. But that's to be expected when there's 50 custom pronouns floating around out there.
