So one for profit (the DLLC, which I assume means "Domestic Limited Liability Co") and one charity? Interesting, if so. I thought you had to show a human "Member-Manager," at least. Guess not. Still, more sophistication than I'd have expected. Can any of them do basic bookkeeping to keep the revenue and expenses separate? Would they put for the effort?
FWIW, there's nothing on the
IRS charity website for them as a 501(c)(3) I can find. (Had to go by name, since I don't know the EIN. Several "Tenacious" results, but no "Tenacious Unicorn," alas.) But due to the WuFlu IRS updates are a shambles, and it looks like this just happened a few weeks ago. Probably be a few months before we can see it, though I'm assuming they had to get the determination letter before applying to Colorado to be a charity.
Next on the to do list is probably to get a
sales tax exemption certificate, assuming they've already gotten a 501(c)3 ruling from the IRS.
Westcliffe, CO has a sales tax rate just under 8%, and I'm not sure Alpaca feed is exempt. Though maybe it is, dunno.
Never mind the plastic crap from Amazon every troon seems to feel is their due. Not that I would ever accuse this fine charity of using such a thing to get out of paying the sales tax on unrelated items, mind you.
